Posted by HenryJames on January 18th, 2010 under Football

Last week GamecockCentral.com, Rivals' South Carolina site, put up an article on their blog saying that Urban Meyer used religion to gain the commitment of defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd.

Urban Meyer Stepping Down

Posted by Scipio Tex on December 26th, 2009 under Football

Holy shit. I have given my heart and soul to coaching college football and mentoring young men for the last 24-plus years and I have dedicated most of my waking moments the last five years to the Gator football program," Meyer said in statement. "I have ignored my health for

Urban Meyer: Tim Tebow > Touchdown Jesus

Posted by srr50 on November 23rd, 2009 under Football

With the Charlie Weis Watch well underway in South Bend, Urban Meyer once again said he would not leave Florida for his self-expressed "Dream Job." "I'm ready to dispel it," Meyer said. "I'm going to be the coach at Florida as long as they'll have me. So I want to make that clear” Meyer has mentioned that he is so happy at Florida that he is already making long term plans for his replacement.

Tennessee Freshman Accused of Attempted Armed Robbery

Posted by srr50 on November 12th, 2009 under Football

Allegedly One of the players involved, Nu'Keese Richardson, was at the center of the recruiting controversy earlier this year when Lane Kiffin accused Florida's Urban Meyer of cheating on his recruiting of Richardson. Richardson hails from Pahokee, Fla. which earlier this week was the subject of a USA Today article that paints Pahokee as a troubled town that lives through its HS football team.

Florida Gators -28 vs Tennessee Volunteers: Lay The Points

Posted by srr50 on September 15th, 2009 under Football

Florida enters this week's game with Tennessee a four-touchdown favorite. It's not enough. Florida coach Urban Meyer says he holds Tennessee defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin in great admiration -- his son, not so much. New Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin spent most of his first few months on the job poking the Gators with a stick, including accusing Meyer of recruiting violations. Addressing a booster gathering the day after national signing day, while

Florida wins the preseason national championship

Posted by HenryJames on August 22nd, 2009 under Football

Never before has a team received so many first place votes in the preseason AP Poll. Never! Florida got 58 of 60, and some shitty team from somewhere else got the other two. Pity votes one would assume. The rest of the Top 25 is inconsequential. It's not surprising that Florida got that many votes when they're led by a quarterback who does things no other quarterback has ever done. Mainly get a media blowjob after

Urban Meyer is the best coach in college football

Posted by HenryJames on July 15th, 2009 under Football

At least according to two college football writers. Matt Hayes of the Sporting News has Meyer first followed by Nick Saban, Pete Carroll, Bob Stoops and Brian Kelly. He has Mack Brown sixth, and does not have Marc Richt in his top 15. Before anyone gets too upset about the rankings, remember that this is the same Matt Hayes who wrote this: Anyone who has followed Texas quarterback Vince Young and Texas A&M quarterback Reggie

Go Gatah!

It's true: no one does it quite like Corch Urban Meyers or Percy Harvey. They deserve our gradulations and are superb to any other college football team. Good stuff from Florida Congresswoman Corinne Brown. I think she really finds her stride after a rough start. I personally dig the club re-mix.
