Blind Sided

Posted by Scipio Tex on August 4th, 2009 under Football

h/t EDSBS Good news! The movie trailer for The Blind Side is on its way to theaters. Bad news! The movie trailer for The Blind Side suggests that it will be focused on the person commanding the premium salary - Sandra Bullock - and that her agent, having not read the book, or any

Richard Justice: Elegant Aggie Provocateur

Posted by Scipio Tex on July 24th, 2009 under

I'm just sayin' This is his latest attempt to mail-in on his job wherein he proposes that Texas A&M join Conference USA. How droll. He's like a humid Jonathan Swift. And why should they join Conference USA? Because they suck! And, are also dumb! And quite rural, you see. Oh he got you good, Aggies! Justice, if you don't know

It’s Baaaaaack!

Posted by Vasherized on July 9th, 2009 under Football

Sort of. Maybe. In other words, you might see the vaunted Wrecking Crew make a return to the gridiron this Fall. But nothing is guaranteed -- the Shermanator is just hoping it comes back. Here is Fightin’ Texas Aggies Head Men’s American Football Coach Mike Sherman, attempting to be optimistic and relevant, against all odds: The Wrecking Crew may or may not return this Fall. Luckily for the Aggies, this clip can't be embedded but here is

12th Man of the Day

Posted by Vasherized on July 2nd, 2009 under Uncategorized

In what I hope will become a re-occurring tribute to our drooling cousins in College Station, today we bring you BC's first honorary 12th Man of the Day, Judge Richard Posner. Idoit, I Am. Other than merely looking like an Aggie, The Poz has no affiliations to A&M other than thinking like one. Which makes his stacks of degrees from Yale, Harvard, Chicago, and a bunch of other smart learning institutions

Texas 14, Army 10

Posted by Scipio Tex on May 31st, 2009 under Baseball

What a great weekend of baseball. Clark bunts over the wall! We score 8 runs in the ninth after a key bases loaded double by Brandon Loy to tie it up followed by Preston Clark's sacrifice bunt that travels 370 feet over the wall for a grand slam and the win. You have to tip your cap to Army, who played with great heart and effort. You can

And Justice For All

Posted by Scipio Tex on May 21st, 2009 under Baseball

Banality strikes back. Gary Cartwright lanced the boil of modern sports journalism a few days ago and given Cartwright's unapologetic criticism, I was not surprised to see some of his former peers take offense. Richard Justice offers a retort written in powerfully annoying folksy prose, suggesting that Cartwright's generation were unethical, easily manipulated, semi-racist, lazy journalists - who wilted under the avuncular guiding hand of a strong editor.

Rockets/Lakers Game 7 Frightens Me

Posted by Trips Right on May 17th, 2009 under

Seriously, I'm almost too afraid to watch. I'm fearful of what I may see on the tube. I'm fearful of the way I'll probably act when I see it. Will I throw the remote? Will I make the kids run stairs? Kick the dog? I don't have a dog. Kick the neighbor's dog? I hate that dog. Look, like most, I'm comfortable with the possibility,

I Hope Rhett Bomar Has a Long NFL Career

Posted by Trips Right on May 15th, 2009 under Football

For Longhorn fan he's the gift that keeps on giving. And if you're a crimson and cream flunky, Rhett's the scarlet letter serving as a constant reminder of OU's history of illegal inducements, transgressions, and general asshattery that is the hallmark of Sooner nation. If the New York football Giants fitted Bomar's helmet with a mobile home logo it would be less embarassing to this outlaw program than interviews like these. Allow me

Barking Carnival to Big 12: Drop Dead

Posted by HenryJames on December 2nd, 2008 under Football

The All Big 12 teams have been announced, and two coaches share the Coach of the Year honors. Bob Stoops and Mike Leach. No Mack Brown. In a year where two people in the Big 12 media picked Texas to win the South. Forty nine picked OU. In a year when OU was picked #4 in the preseason coaches' poll, and Texas was picked #10. In a year when OU was picked #4 in the
