If we can slow down Mookie Blaylock, we have a chance.

Piling On

Posted by BrickHorn on October 23rd, 2009 under Football

Okay, it's Friday and the Longhorns have a game tomorrow against Missouri. So I feel a little behind the times posting yet another piece on our offense's struggles against Oklahoma. I spent the last few days following our depressing win preparing for and defending a soul-crushing deposition. So I've had a shitty week. Please indulge my tardy addition to the board. What do I have to add to the brilliant

Sooner Sundry

Posted by Vasherized on October 22nd, 2009 under Football

It must be October in Dallas... This one was a little different. Walking the fairgrounds before and after the game there was hardly one inbred insult, nary a one physical challenge from Sooner Nation. Such is the nature of the wounded animal with no weapons left at his disposal, regardless of what Bob Stoops spouts to the press. But there is something about an amicable Sooner I

Podcast. Now!

Posted by Vasherized on October 21st, 2009 under Football

What are these things exactly? Is it a verb? A movement? Another evil Steve Jobs invention? Forrester Research recently published a study that the average podcastionado makes $300K a year, scores a lot of pussy, and follows a team that always wins. Now is your chance to take a leap into the strange world of live chatrooms, awkward pauses, dead air, technology failures, wild ass theories, X's and O's, and in this case -- very

2009 Oklahoma Sooners Post-Mortem

Beating OU is sweet nectar. Longhorns who don't view Sooner as our natural enemy are as strange to me as the concept of no-fault auto insurance.

Texas OU thoughts

Posted by HenryJames on October 18th, 2009 under Football

If you had told me before the game that we would force five turnovers, I would have thought we would have won by 21. Instead we won by 3. Guh. The first half of this game felt like 2005 all over again.

There will be no Heisman trophy brought back to the 40 Acres at the end of this season.

Halftime rant open thread

Our offense is horrible. Flat horrible. OU has like watched film and shit, and we have no answer. None. Defense and special teams are doing their best to score for us. It's probably our only chance. Colt and Shipley are pressing, trying to do too much. Our offensive line has never seen a blitz they couldn't fail to pick up. Greg Davis abandoned the running game down 6-0 in the first quarter.

Give Us Vengeance

Posted by CloseToJumping on October 16th, 2009 under Football

Give Us Vengeance, Oh God, and/or Mack Brown. We have waited with patience for this day. If you’re not thinking the same thing going into this weekend, you are rooting for a different team. This team went out and took up the mantle from OU on the field last year. No one thought they would and they did. They did it fighting uphill and they didn’t stop until they had wrenched it from Sam Bradford’s dead,

Podcasting with Orson Swindle of EDSBS & PB @ BON

Posted by Sailor Ripley on October 16th, 2009 under Football

Earlier this week Scipio joined the EDSBS Live crew (Orson Swindle from the constantly hilarious EDSBS and our old buddy PB from Burnt Orange Nation). Actually, it's the predecessor to last night's BC & BON All Over OU Podcast but wanted to toss it up here ahead of the game: EDSBS PODCAST 09.7.0: SCIPIO TEX BARKS, CARNIVALIZES Discussed: the defensive strategies of choice against Texas' offense, the enduring filthy nastiness of a Will Muschamp
