Once again Brett Favre turned out to be Solid Gold for the TV networks, as the NFC Championship game produced the most-watched program in the history of the FOX network. The overnight ratings for the New Orleans Saints 31-28 overtime win over Favre and the Vikings produced a 30.6 rating with 57.9 million viewers. While Roger Federer was winning a record 15th Grand Slam Tennis title at Wimbledon, Tiger Woods was winning his own golf tournament, the AT&T National. He was also getting slightly better TV ratings. Woods continues to be a ratings goldmine for the PGA Tour. The 4.6 rating for Sunday's final was 207% higher than last year's final round when Tiger was out after knee surgery. That's what ESPN is reporting. Lane Kiffin, who was 5-15 in a year and a half as the head man at the train wreck known as the Oakland Raiders, is slated to take Phil Fulmer's place at Tennessee.
