All about the big men

Posted by Nickel Rover on February 25th, 2010 under Basketball

Basketball: I was relieved to see Texas at least protect home court on Wednesday night while continuing to show developing play since the Kansas debacle. Again, until we see this teem demonstrate the same ball-movement and defense on the road the improvement is inconclusive. I had a feeling of dread before the game thinking, "if they blow this...I'm out. I'll watch but only through interest in the outcome, not out of hope for fulfillment as a

Texas Hoops vs. Oklahoma State Preview II

Posted by Trips Right on February 24th, 2010 under Basketball

Here's your primer on Oklahoma State from earlier in the year. The Cowboy personnel groups haven't changed a whole lot but ours have and that may be a problem. There is no Doge to tag James Anderson, but the talented wing isn't the shooter on the road that he is at home so we've go that going for us...which is nice. The same player scouting reports found in the game 1 preview

It’s an Eminence Front

It’s a put on. Those were the words floating through my mind yesterday after Texas trailed at halftime for the fifth time in the last six games. That, and the conclusion that Eli Manning looks eerily like Pete Townsend circa 1982 with less cocaine.  But what better to way to describe Texas basketball’s freefall from grace than some nostalgic Townsend lyrics from

Doug Gottlieb hits on this point and uses

Trips with a great preview here. And here is a picture of a big fan. If we can stop Bill Self, we've got a chance.

A&M v OU and Tech v Okie St thread

Posted by HenryJames on November 14th, 2009 under Football

This will be the first look at A&M in weeks for some of us because their games somehow don't end up on television. D'oh. What will OU's offensive line look like? Is it illegal to only have four offensive linemen on the field at a time? Tech gets their injured quarterback...back. I can't remember his name, but he's from Pflugerville. Not that it means anything. Mike Gundy will try to keep OSU from dropping two of their

Robert Griffin Leads Baylor over Missouri It has been a few weeks since I’ve posted an update on how Baylor is doing, while a nation sat and waited with bated breath.
