Posted by srr50 on March 9th, 2010 under Football

All the recent talk about proposed conference expansion has centered around Texas being a prime target for either the Pac 10 or Big 10. Now the biggest domino in the BCS is indicating that maybe they are ready to look to make a safe fall. Touchdown Jesus may send the signal that Notre Dame is willing to play nice with others. The talk of the Big East basketball tournament is that the Fighting Irish

Notre Dame vs Texas

New Irish coach Brian Kelly might like to schedule Texas. "When you look at the teams that carry the same mission [as Notre Dame], Texas does that obviously," he said. "Those kinds of schools really are attractive to me. "[Athletic director] Jack Swarbrick and I will sit down and look at our schedule as we move forward. I want to be around the best, because we're asked to be the best. And that's the kind

GameWatch Week 10

One of the coolest things about living in California, aside from paying taxes that makes Belgians wince, is the fact that college football is in full swing as I breakfast: usually a fiber-rich muesli bought fair trade from Andean Indiginos. After my exfoliating regimen, making a lease payment on my Range Rover, and my Scientology self-affirmations, I begin my game-watching.

Posted by srr50 on September 11th, 2009 under Football

It may have been a lousy weekend for the ACC, but the Labor Day matchup between Miami and Florida State was a ratings winner for hte league and ESPN. While the ACC went 4-6 in non-conference play, Miami edged the Seminoles 38-34 as 8.4 million viewers watched. That made the contest the second-most watched regular season college football game in the 30 years of ESPN. The most watched college football game on the WWL was

Barking Bets: Week 2

Wilson looked like he was slower than Stephen Garcia. Perhaps a looming Major League contract would make us all a bit slower. So two nickels down there. Ok State made about 4 plays from scrimmage on offense, had
