Last Year’s OSU Game – Some Observations

Posted by EyesOfTX on October 31st, 2009 under Football

I caught most of the replay of our 2008 game with OSU on one of the myriad Fox Sports channels last night.  I'm glad I stumbled across it, because watching it made me feel even better than I already did about the likelihood of a Texas win tonight.

Dez’s dead, Baby. Dez’s dead.

Dez Bryant isn't really dead. But his college career is. The NCAA ruled last night that will remain suspended for the rest of the season. Bryant was suspended originally because he lied about his relationship with Deion Sanders. Seems a tad severe. Bryant wrote a letter of apology to the NCAA in which he claimed "that he jogged briefly with Sanders at a Texas athletics center without breaking a sweat and then went to

Goin’ South

Who is benefiting the most from all the injuries and suspensions in the Big 12 South? Possibly Texas A&M. This is a team that I figured would go 6-6 before the year started.

Dez Bryant has been ruled ineligible

Posted by HenryJames on October 7th, 2009 under Football

According to various rumours on various internets. He supposedly was ruled ineligible by the NCAA for hiring an agent. That sound you just heard was OSU's season going down the drain. It's official: Tulsa is a slut spelled backward.

Big 12 Media Days: Day One

Posted by HenryJames on July 28th, 2009 under Football

Day one of the Big 12 Media Days is in the books, and no one from BC was in attendance. Again. Ripley promised us that he could make us some press passes, but his resulting work was, uh, lacking. Nice try, but Trips' first name is actually Rogelio. Nebraska's Bo Pelini was up first so here's the pdf of his interview. Excerpts: On the change in the team's mindset: You know, I felt when I first

Liveblogging the Mack Brown press conference

Posted by Doperbo on October 27th, 2008 under Football

I got in late, didn’t hear the opening question. Based on the length of the monologue it must have been a doozy. Okay, just checked, it was “Good morning.” Here’s the last part of the response: … feel like it’s a really fun time. It’s a neat deal for college football and for the kids, and it’s really special for a home crowd that was a record here for attendance and that’s really fun. I

Today In T Boone’s Office

Gundy, get in here. Mr Pickens? Take a knee and put this cardboard beer helmet on your head. You know the drill. Will do. Gundy, you look like an Amarillo golf pro that humped an oil slick. Yes sir.

T. Boone Pickens: “Now I’m Getting My Money’s Worth”

Posted by srr50 on October 20th, 2008 under Football

T Boone Pickens hedge fund investments have dropped, but his $200 million investment in Oklahoma State athletics is showing signs of paying off -- at least Boone thinks so. Pickens may not be the collegiate Jerry Jones just yet, but some of the signs point that way. Boone is spending his Saturdays in the OSU locker room leading cheers. Oklahoma State comes into Austin this Saturday as the unbeaten #7 team in the country, and
