Balbay out for the season

Posted by Vasherized on February 22nd, 2010 under Basketball

Torn ACL, per Inside Texas' Twitter, per Belmont, per Balbay's doctor, per Balbay's MRI, per Balbay's knee. That's two guards lost for the season to knee injuries and the latest was from an otherwise innocuous knee bump from a clumsy big man on dedfischer's payroll. A Tonya Harding sighting on the 40 Acres can't be far away. Rick Barnes' goal of limiting J'Covan Brown's minutes j'ust got harder.

Spring practice open dates announced

Posted by HenryJames on February 5th, 2010 under Football

There will be open practices on March 2nd and 8th, both starting at 4pm at Denius. The Orange-White game will be April 4th. Now some bad news. Mason Walters will miss the spring after having surgery on his left foot. I was hoping he would have taken the left tackle spot, but now we're pretty much fucked. Nolan Brewster will also miss the spring while recovering from shoulder surgery. So Blake Gideon will continue to start

Sam Bradford to start against Baylor

Oh, you need two shoulders to play Quarterback? Whatever. Sam Bradford is apparently good to go. This should be fun. H/T Jerry Schmidt.

Bob Stoops on a Speakerphone

Posted by Vasherized on September 30th, 2009 under Football

With OU’s majestic loss to BYU, one of the entertaining events that fans of college football have been deprived of is Bob Stoops’ weekly pandering to: a) install his team as the best Sooner squad ever,

Sean Salisbury is My Favorite Analyst

Posted by Trips Right on September 11th, 2009 under Football

And it's no surprise since I'm the Barker that brought you cock flavored popsicle or cocksickle. I'm also a big fan of rubbing one out and burping the worm. I find this shit gloriously amusing as it takes me back to my time living in the athletic dormitory. But back on point, who wouldn't want to drink a beer with Salisbury after this sexting revelation? Look, some of you are going

Recapping Sooner Hell Week

Posted by Trips Right on September 9th, 2009 under Football

I know CTJ has a great thread going here, but I wanted to provide a recap of how the OU program has fallen so far so fast in a week's time. Plus I figured holding off on my Barking Bets would save some people some coin. That said... Yep, Oklahoma is now officially circling the drain. Let's recap the week the Devil called in his chits. -Their all world tight end Jermain

OU 0-1

Posted by Sailor Ripley on September 5th, 2009 under Football

Didn't see that coming. Sam and his shoulder in happier times. Sam Bradford seems like a really good kid and we hope he's ok. I suspect a few Barkers will have some post-mortem thoughts on the Oklahoma Sooners squad in the next day or two (I'm looking at you CTJ).

Overheard Injury News on the Interwebs

Posted by Trips Right on September 4th, 2009 under Football

Well, we all know that Jermaine Gresham has a torn meniscus thanks to Close to Jumping's schadenfreude, which is German for smooth buttfucking. Every time a sooner injures a joint overstressed and inundated with pharmaceutical grade muscle, it's fun to watch CTJ walk in with his size 18's, honk his sooner hating red nose, and club the baby seal caricature that is Sooner fandom and your garden variety Oklahoman. But I regress...

DJ Grant Out For Season

Posted by Scipio Tex on August 13th, 2009 under Football

According to numerous sources. He'll get a medical redshirt and try to return in 2010 with Blaine Irby. Looks like the revolution will start later. What does this mean for our perpetually cursed TE position? Well, it's not good. Greg Smith represents an extra blocking surface. I see him written of as a "good blocker" primarily because he's not helpful in the passing game. This is

Irby won’t play in 2009

Posted by HenryJames on July 25th, 2009 under Football

Not a surprise, but tight end Blaine Irby will miss the 2009 season. “With a knee dislocation like Blaine sustained, damage can occur to ligaments, nerves and arteries,” Texas’ team orthopedic surgeon Carey Windler said. “Blaine sustained significant ligament damage as well as a major nerve injury. The trauma to his knee was dramatic, and he was very fortunate that no arterial injury occurred.
