CJ Mosley kicks things off with a commit to Alabama and a nice horns down for good measure. Nice, asshole. He was booed by the crowd. Connor Wood gets the start for the West and promptly goes 3 and out. East counters with a 3 and out of their own.

The NCAA dropped the probation hammer in response to recent shenanigans - I was as surprised as you to learn that it wasn't Southern Cal or Oklahoma getting disciplined for payments of players or thumbing their nose at eligibility requirements, but rather BYU-Hawaii. SI.com reports that it's not impossible to stop Tebow - How do you stop 3.8 yards per carry?!?!? YOU CAN'T!!! Texas is #2 in CFN's 5-year rankings - I've always

Tebow's value as a player -- he has passed and run for 8,427 yards and 110 touchdowns -- is surpassed only by his value as a leader. The time will come when his postgame speech after the Ole Miss loss last season will be recited daily

Texans and the NFL draft

Posted by HenryJames on May 2nd, 2009 under Football

I follow recruiting closely in Texas so each year after the NFL draft I find out which draftees played their high school ball in Texas. Interesting to me to see which guys got drafted, where they were ranked coming out of high school and how their college careers went. 1st Rd 1. Matt Stafford, Georgia, Dallas Highland Park Five stars. The top rated QB in the country. 2. Jason Smith, Baylor, Dallas White Two star player. Baylor, Kansas

Let’s Play It Again

Phillipsburg High School and Easton Area High School are going to settle their score once and for all by replaying their inconclusive 1993 rivalry game. It will also fulfill the secret desire of most thirtysomething males living in New Jersey and Pennsylvania factory towns: namely, going back to high school. (ref: see Springsteen, Bruce) Peyton and Eli Manning will be serving as honorary coaches and Gatorade is sponsoring.
