Top 10 Defensive Lapses

Posted by Hank Dudek on March 11th, 2010 under Basketball

I started this with just under 8 minutes to go in the game. Otherwise this would have been a list of 50. 1.Ladarius Dunn backdoor on Mason at 7:50 in the 2nd Half. ”See Man” 2. Run-out Tweety Carter at 7:10 of 2nd Half. “Get Back MFER and stop the ball” 3. Backdoor Ladarius Dunn at 6:24 of 2nd Half on Mason. Basket good, foul on Mason to boot. Maybe “see your man, especially since you are guarding Dunn” 4.

Breakdowns & Remedies

Posted by Hank Dudek on February 9th, 2010 under Basketball

Some quick thoughts to complement the great stuff Trips has already delivered. BREAKDOWN! Rick Barnes implemented a set offense 21 games into the regular season against the number 1 team in the country. He told his guys to set it up and run it. The problem is you are supposed to do this in the preseason so that by game 21 against the number 1 team in the country you don’t have to think

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly – Cowboys 17, Redskins Zip

Posted by EyesOfTX on December 28th, 2009 under Football

Watching the Cowboys is in many ways like watching the Texas Longhorns – you have your QB who can scramble and make good stuff happen when plays break down, an offensive line that is not much good at pass protection, one great wide receiver and kind of a crap shoot after you get past him, a highly-paid offensive coordinator who often drives fans batshit crazy, and a defense that keeps the team in pretty much

Why Texas Stomps a Mudhole In TAMU’s Ass

Posted by CloseToJumping on November 24th, 2009 under Football

It never fails. We march through an entire season’s schedule like a rolling ball of butcher knives, as we have this season. Yet, inevitably, some of the mouthbreathers within our fanbase will still find a way to make an appearance at some point on the schedule to tell us all why we really should fear “Team XYZ”. Making matters worse for any of us with any sanity about what we’ve seen from this team, these

Part II of the Obese Hoops Preview: Why Texas Will Cut Down the Nets

Posted by The General on November 10th, 2009 under Basketball

For all of the sunshine pumping regarding our potential offensive prowess, there will still be incredibly frustrating runs for this team. Even with all of the offensive fire power that arrived on the campus this summer, I expect offense to remain the weak link on the team. Rick Barnes is a defensive guy, and I expect the lion's share of the practice minutes to be utilized on this side of the basketball.

Zombie Coaches

Posted by TaylorTRoom on November 10th, 2009 under Football

No, not coaches like Chizik, that will devour your brain, but rather coaches that are like "zombie banks", that are dead (their schools want to fire them), but still moving (because their schools lack the buyout money to do so). I think that this is a new phenomena, because buyouts got so large in recent years. I think Dan Hawkins is a zombie coach. He and CU both know it's not going to work out. It would
