Texas vs. Harlem Globetrotters recap

Posted by Nickel Rover on March 6th, 2010 under Basketball

Basketball: As the first half was unfolding I felt encouraged by the ball movement, variety of offensive sets, and ball movement on the offense. Aside from too many turnovers for a few minutes I thought the team was going to put it together on the road. If only they could keep track of their guys off the ball...then the game just devolved into one of the worst performances of the season. Awiggo has some early reactions

DJ Monroe & Christian Scott Eligible for Title Game

Posted by CloseToJumping on December 21st, 2009 under Football

Mack has reported it at his press conference. Halliburton is there, so if you need a "source", it isn't up on TexasSports yet, but it's up at her Twitter: @suzhalliburton and Inside Texas is also there and reporting it. This is good news for us. Scott can help out on Special Teams after practicing with the team all year. It would be idiocy not to have him unleashed on coverage teams. He was great there

Christian Scott eligible for bowl game?

He talked about playing Tray Allen on both sides of the line, and he mentioned some players who played more than one position at Texas. Now it's not that hard to be a defensive tackle and also be our short yardage fullback. It's just not. And then he mentioned something surprising. Henry Melton played two places until

Roy Miller was the best henchman in the world, the Oddjob of Will Muschamp's operation. Short, tough, and deadly, his best asset was keeping his boss from having to do any dirty work himself. Have a scotch, give an order, and sit back.

A tale of two safeties

Posted by HenryJames on November 17th, 2008 under Football

Before the season started we knew that Texas would be starting a couple of youngsters at safety. I set my expectations accordingly. Same as I would if I sit down in a restaurant and find that my waiter is a dude wearing skinny jeans. But unlike hipster waitstaff, our safeties have upside. Earl Thomas received some much deserved criticism this season for looking lost at times. No, he was lost. But the dude has athleticism out
