Posted by srr50 on November 23rd, 2009 under Football

With the Charlie Weis Watch well underway in South Bend, Urban Meyer once again said he would not leave Florida for his self-expressed "Dream Job." "I'm ready to dispel it," Meyer said. "I'm going to be the coach at Florida as long as they'll have me. So I want to make that clear” Meyer has mentioned that he is so happy at Florida that he is already making long term plans for his replacement.

Dienhart Rates the Non-BCS Coaches

Posted by TaylorTRoom on April 15th, 2009 under Football

Here. First- I think Dienhart is a good college football reporter.  Second, I recognize that the coaches at the non-BCS programs are often doing amazing coaching jobs.  Still, let's have some fun with this.  I have not copied the whole article (that would be wrong), but only excerpts and I have added  comments in italics.  Maybe you can add some more...here goes... 3. Chris Petersen, Boise State. Unlike Houston Nutt, Dirk Koetter and Dan Hawkins, Petersen

Ask anyone that pays attention to the sport of college football about 2009 and you’ll hear a relatively consistent POV. “Florida is #1 and no one else is close.” “Texas and OU are #2 and #3.” “The sweat off of Tim Tebow’s balls can cure shingles.” “Kirk Herbstreit’s eyebrows connect to his hairline.” “Erin Andrews is Trev Alberts dressed in drag.” “USC will be top 5. So will Ohio State. The ACC

Notre Dame’s Leprechaun Still Guards A Pot of Gold

Posted by srr50 on September 24th, 2008 under

Charlie Weis and his Irish gang are hosting Purdue this week. Notre Dame is a slim (-1) favorite over the Boilermakers at home. But there is one sure bet. The Fighting Irish will once again find a pot of gold waiting in the endzone. That's because Notre Dame collects almost $30 million a year.in multimedia and marketing revenue. Most estimates put Texas next in multimedia revenue at about $20 million a year. Over the past

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly – Rice

Posted by EyesOfTX on September 21st, 2008 under Football

[I apologize for all the spacing issues in this post.  This software just baffles the hell out of me.]  I've been betting on college football games off and on for about 30 years or so.  Never put too much money on the line - it's just something I've done for fun, and to increase the interest level for each saturday's cornucopia of gridiron matchups.

36-Hour CramSession: College Football Week 3

Posted by BRAGGonUT on September 14th, 2008 under Football

The beauty of the unexpected bye week is that it gave us all an opportunity to see a lot more football on TV than most game weeks. Think Reggie Ball without the bonehead turnover mentality running Paul Johnson’s version of the triple option. Georgia Tech is
