More A&M Chancellor Drama

Posted by Doperbo on July 1st, 2009 under

Apparently the Faculty Senate at A&M, previously best known for successfully blending togas and Carhartts during floor deliberations, passed a resolution yesterday that results in a vote of 'No Confidence' for current Chancellor Mike McKinney. You may remember McKinney from Taylor's excellent piece on the subject a few weeks ago. You may have also emailed his etch-a-sketch photo to numerous friends and family who've dissapointed you over the year as well, if not I

Mack Talks Spring Game

Posted by Scipio Tex on April 5th, 2009 under Football

Here are Mack's post-Spring game comments. Here's the AP summary. I pulled out some of the quotes that interested me the most. On the younger defensive linemen: We’ve been really pleased with Alex Okafor throughout the spring. We know what Sam [Acho] can do, because we’ve seen him for two years. For Alex to come in and do what he has done as a

Longhorn Sports Network Closer to Reality

Posted by srr50 on November 9th, 2008 under Uncategorized

We have already talked here on BC about Texas seriously considering putting together its own sports channel 24/7. Apparently, the most important step in the process is well underway. Business Week says UT and its corporate partner, IMG College, are looking for distributors for the Longhorn Sports Channel and it may be as soon as next school year. This is the tricky part of putting the network together. UT is trying to do something no

When Tony Barnhart types, I read

Posted by BRAGGonUT on October 27th, 2008 under Football

It’s hard to see Fulmer returning as Tennessee’s coach: Phillip Fulmer is an old offensive lineman which means he will work and fight until the last game is over. But what I saw Saturday night in Knoxville was a sense of resignation that Fulmer will not be able to get the program at Tennessee turned around. In case you’re keeping score at

Props To The Athletic Department

Posted by Scipio Tex on October 26th, 2008 under Football

We at BC like to have our fun with Bill Little's Hallmark football essays, but Bellmont and the SID office deserve recognition for having have put together the best college football program homepage (Mack Brown Texas Football ) in existence. I like to read up on other schools and nothing compares. Aside from the richness of content found in the archives, history, and daily features, you can find press conference transcripts, daily practice

GameDay will be in Lubbock

Posted by HenryJames on October 26th, 2008 under Football

It will be their first ever trip to Lubbock. Duh. This will be the third time in four weeks that ESPN has covered Texas. Hopefully this will put the 'ESPN is biased against Texas' meme to rest. At least for another week. This is the biggest thing to happen in Lubbock since the premier of Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector. dedfischer got his Cabela's hat autographed!
