Huge Recruiting News For Baylor

Posted by Trips Right on February 15th, 2010 under Football

Apparently the Bears received an verbal commitment from one of the truly elite backs in the state Brandon Williams. He was supposed to be visiting Texas this coming weekend and was a shoe-in to be offered by the Horns. Now he's a Baylor Bear. Just a huge get for BU considering Williams is vying for the top running back in the state honors along with Malcolm Brown, Aaron Green, and Herschel Sims. This

Tracking Baylor – Week 3, The Futility of UHfan, etc.

I married a woman from the British Isles earlier this year. She’s half Irish, half British. She’s constantly at war with herself and most religions, which is nice.

I’m a Baylor Bear, Man

Posted by Vasherized on September 22nd, 2009 under Football

Add this jackassery, courtesy of Baylor student Marshall Bumpus, to the list of reasons why Baylor deserves a special beatdown in Waco this year. As if Art Briles' forked tongue and voting habits weren't enough. This was actually played during the Baylor/UConn game on Saturday. No wonder the Huskies won. This is blasphemy the estate of Johnny Cash simply should not stand

The Briles Baylor Bears Bowl March Well, I promised a Baylor update every week, whether my prediction of 8-4 begins to look like an absurdity or not. I am always happy to eat crow and be mocked, as I gladly return that when I can. Well, today is more me mocking than anything, so imagine me typing this post with my bare ass pointed at your face,… unless you agreed with me. Baylor is now 1-0.

2009 Baylor Football Preview: State of the Union

Posted by Trips Right on August 26th, 2009 under Football

If I'm looking at the upcoming football season through the prism of a Baylor fan I can't help but be hopeful. And I'm not talking Shawshank Redemption hopeful where I'm worried about prison rape and crawling through a mile of raw sewage, I'm talking legitimate hope, although it has probably seemed like a prison sentence for the last 15 years or so for the fighting Mike Singletaries. Scouting Baylor

Do not fling teh bowie knife at meh! A few quick thoughts on what to look for from Baylor before heading into the weekend. I'll also explain why I think we won't cover the 28 point spread. Baylor on Offense: Freshman QB Robert Griffin is a sublime talent and the focus of Baylor's offense. They have good to great personnel at tackle and center, not so much at guard, where one

Here come the Tacklin’ Baptists

Raise your hand if you've seen more than a quarter of Baylor football this season. Yeah, me neither. Hopefully some of our NCAA fantasy football geeks who have been paying closer attention can fill us in, since other than Art Briles and Robert Griffin I'm hard pressed to name anyone on the squad. I think Briles plays cornerback. That's guesswork on my part. I also must admit I've always liked Baylor, in that non-threatening demure

Big 12 Football Wrap Up

Posted by Scipio Tex on September 13th, 2008 under Football

The Wrap saw some great games and several more that were unlikely to make the cut for oral tradition around campfires. Kansas - 34 South Florida - 37 I picked South Florida to win a close one in a game dominated by both QBs. I also said that despite USF winning, KU would cover the 3.5 point spread. I'm sort of in awe of myself right now. Now I will pay Mephistopheles

Around the state and conference

Kirby Freeman's career at Baylor came to an end last night after one quarter of football. Freshman Robert Griffin is the present and future of Baylor football. Unfortunately, his immediate future is only going to lead to a single win over Northwestern State. Wait 'till next year, Baylor. Left tackle Jason Smith is a player though. Baylor's biggest problem is their defense. An Art Briles coached team struggle on defense? No way! They played a
