If we can slow down Big Red Autos, we have a chance.
So far, 19 have signed on the line that is dotted for Texas. What does it take to recruit 17-18 year old kids…brass balls.
The stragglers seem to be Davis, Cobb, and Jeffcoat although there’s nothing to worry about on these fronts. Yet, anyway.
In other news pertinent to the Horns, Texas A&M may be taking it on the chin with rumored losses of its best player on both sides of the ball. Nelson looks to have gotten a better deal from OU and playmaking athlete Fobbs has chosen LSU.
Nebraska picked up two four star players today in QB Brian Carnes and Safety Corey Cooper.

Both teams are unselfish and preach sharing the ball. A&M is a balanced scoring team. Sloan showed in the first round against Utah State, for example, that he can defer when his teammates have things going. Purdue once again will have to rely on JaJuan Johnson and E’Twaun Moore to produce, and hope

This notion of Hamilton as being a disaster area on defense is all a bit much. He rebounds extremely well which, if it wasn’t obvious, is extremely important in this game since it secures possession of the basketball. Winning in basketball is achieved through the scoring of baskets and it’s necessary to possess the basketball

Trips, there’s actually an interesting story there. Kenny Stills, who has enrolled in classes, may have to disenroll and head back to Cali. The NCAA cleared Tony Jefferson, but they haven’t cleared Stills yet. The word is that it’s an issue with a particular class unique to San Diego that both took to graduate early. Thus, the 5 we expected to count against last year may only be four. As I understand it, the issue isn’t settled yet one way or the other. Signs don’t look good though, as Stills is not on the roster, nor is he on the list of enrollees.
That means that, for now, we have to presume all the slots are full and taking one guy means dropping another. Lake was a reach offer and maybe a bit of a project at LB. Nelson is a much better prospect at the position.

Giving a guy a scholarship offer and accepting his commitment and then refusing to honor it seems like bad recruiting business to me. I’m glad Mack doesn’t do stuff like that.

I’m not convinced it’s really that much better than Texas’ defensive class, yet time and time again I’ve heard scouts mention this Florida as class as legendary in its own time, essentially. Based on recruit rankings, it simply isn’t heads and shoulders better. The snowball effect that has lead to an aurora of “best ever” consideration for this Florida class has been a little agitating to me.

My sister dated an Aggie OL for a while. She hated those cleat chasing skanks. She went to UT by the way.

Even the usual group of ou media bootlicks in OKC are admitting that Stoops has signed a higher number of “academic risks” than normal this year

ATM’s O-Line haul was pretty damn good this year. I expect Sherman to have that unit playing very well in a couple of years. However, they don’t seem to have done much to help the defensive side of the ball. Anybody know whether or not they have the personnel to run a 3-4? Or is that just the new coordinator’s preference?

We don’t. Right now we’re running a 1-10. Von and a bunch of tards.

Defensive end from Portland with the unspellable name picks UCLA over Nebraska.

Interesting. I had wondered about this. UT’s in-state dominance is forcing OU to go after riskier recruits. I wouldn’t mind seeing that strategy backfire.

I wouldn’t trade our class with Florida’s in a second. The recruiting analysts don’t account for character, and talent alone doesn’t win championships. Not that I know anything about Florida’s kids in this class, but based on a few from last year’s class it seems like Meyer shares the same qualms about character with Stoops. Our kids have character in spades. And they are just as talented and fill our needs perfectly.

“Our kids have character in spades.”
I don’t think you can call them spades anymore.

I wanted to hear the PC but was too busy at work. Did Mack say anything spectacular that wasn’t in the press release?

I would much rather have guys who have morals and less talent. Perhaps I am in a minority, but I believe there are bigger things in life than winning or losing games.
We would argue you can win without recruits who are dirty. Of course, the only time aggy won recently was thanks to Jackie Sherrill, his FedEx bag man, R. C. Slocum, and their collection of greedy payola recipients. So aggy pretends that winning and recruiting players with morals are mutually exclusive. By doing so, you enable underachievement.

He gave credit to the Big 12’s TV package for helping attract out-of-state recruits. Maybe not spectacular, but laughable.

Yeah how did recruiting douchebags work out for the schools that signed Perriloux and ‘Tellus?
Florida’s class does have a couple of kids who posed with guns on Twitter, right? Nice!
Frankly, I would much rather have guys who don’t end up in the police blotter than win one extra game every other year. Not sure Texas, Alabama, Florida, or USC need to take bad guys to win consistently.

OU has very few academic casualties over the last few years, and I can’t find any evidence of this. Is this inside info or can you give a link?

I wore cleats to work today. No question the women are looking at me differently this morning.

Well, Blues, the Horns did get pretty good coverage due to our ranking. I’m not certain what the TV package had to do with it, but whatever was responsible, it worked for me!
