The main thing Tre’ does that Cody doesn’t is cut the ball quickly back against the grain on both the stretch and zone/read plays. He has learned not to follow the “blocking”, because there is no running room where the “blocking” is – the only room in this system is where the play is NOT designed to go.

So he’ll be the starter until he has a bad half of football, and then somebody else will take over. See the “Cody Johnson is Doomed” post for why that is.

As quickly as Mack picked up local traditions and alumni support I think it still took him a few seasons to understand the true nature of aTm, maybe even longer for OU. Hopefully Will gets it from the jump.

I still laugh about the Hullabaloo Dinesh Dinesh song someone made up right after that game though.

Tre fits our system better than any back on campus. He is everything Chris O was as a senior with more speed and quicker feet, save for the pass protection. He has been pretty good in that area, too but Chris was outstanding his senior year.

Now if they can just play Malcolm and keep Chiles off the field, we will be fine.

They are wishing they had a QB in Tuscaloosa and wishing they had an OL and WRs in Gainesville. If we didn’t have problems with our running game/OL, there wouldn’t be any reason to even play the title game. We all have a major flaws in our games this year. This isn’t 2005 so it’s o.k. As long as we keep the gameplan we had against KU, throwing deep early and using play action, we will win it all.

The revolving door is silly, but Newton is our best all around back. I’m more concerned with who we play at WR anyway. We are going to win or lose based solely on our passing game. The running game is irrelevant whether we like it or not.
