The Red Raiders’ annual rivalry with the Longhorns will kick off on either ABC or ESPN on Sept. 18 at Jones AT&T Stadium.

“annual rivalry”? What the hell does that mean? Does it only become a rivalry once a year? It gets “kicked off” each year?

It’s ridiculous enough that Tech thinks they are Texas’ rivals, but it’s even more hilarious that they don’t know how to use the word in a sentence.

I like your style. This is why I’m am pissed that Tech isn’t going to play TCU. instead we get the fierce Weber St. Way to aim high Gerald!

I dont think that Texas will field a team next year that is capable of beating Tech by 27-31. That is some overconfidence for sure. Not saying they’ll win, but come on…. And “Either way, you lose. But you should be used to that feeling by now.” seriously? Tech lost by 10 this year and won last year. and no, i dont remember anything past 2 years.

UCLA these days is pretty much Colorado. I don’t see why anyone would be concerned about playing them early.

I have no qualms with playing UCLA and Tech early in the season. All of us on this board want Texas to play some exciting non-con games both for experience and BCS help, but now we don’t want to play UCLA? Give me a break. And while I am at it, if the UCLA game does get moved to the following year, I say bring Boise State down to Austin in our open date and show them a good ol’ time.

Roach, the quote is correct. The 2010 game is in Lubbock and the 2011 game is in Ft. Worth, as indicated by the parentheses.

That’s an awful lot of confidence from a team that lost at home to A&M by 20+ points recently. We beat you this year without an offense so why would next year be any differently?

If Gilbert is still inexperienced it will be a 10-17 point win. If he is in mid season form you lose by 27-31.

Either way, you lose. But you should be used to that feeling by now.
