Texas A&M already 0-1 in 2015

Posted by ChrisApplewhite on September 2nd, 2009 under Football

Added USC in ‘15 and ‘16, Oregon in ‘18 and ‘19

From AggieAthletics

Honestly it’s an awesome move for them and the Big 12. It’ll bring them the national attention they haven’t had since Leeland McElroy was making summer preview magazine covers.

Texas had announced games with DeVry University and Johnston High School.

  1. USC in College Station? The locals will provide comfort to “big city folk.”

And Aggies in Southern California? We know that story.

Fox should go ahead an plan a reality show based around this One and One series.

  2. DeVry doesn’t fuck around with the spread, straight smashmouth. We better be prepping our DLine and mugging backers now.

Plus, I heard DeVry got a special waiver for partial qualifiers with welding and/or HVAC experience.

  3. this makes me jealous of ATM for the first time since…. EVER.

suck it DeLoss. you done got beat.

  4. It says something about USC as well. They have been moving towards a policy of having a recognizable name from a BCS conference on the schedule — but not from the top tier.

Virginia, Minnesota, Boston College, Syracuse — and now A&M.

These are the BCS teams that are now popping up on their schedule — enough of Ohio State and such after this season

I happen to think this is also the way we should be going. .

  5. Easy, scag. I don’t feel like trading ADs with the aggies.

  6. Good for the Ags and good for the Big XII.

  7. DeVry be ballin’ balls out, kid.

  8. srr50 has it right. The Aggies will be crowing about a matchup of national powers. Meanwhile, Southern Cal views a series with A&M like one with Minnesota or Syracuse.

  9. You’re a clever guy, texoz. Carlos Mencia or George Lopez funny. Blue Collar Comedy funny, even. Do you write your own jokes?

  10. In fairness to DeLoss (which I don’t offer easily), we do have some mid-Tier BCS matchups coming with UCLA and Ole Miss in a few years. And Arkansas & Utah bailed on us. It still doesn’t help me get past the wussiness of playing UL-Monroe and the like for all of the non-con.

Honestly, I’d rather us dump the weak D-1 teams and schedule 1-AA teams in their place – they don’t hurt you in the computer polls the same way that weak D-1 teams do.

Maybe we can schedule Lamar in a couple of years.

  11. i was most excited about this program after reading The Ohio State University agreed to play a home-and-home with us.

prior to that? playing – and losing our asses – to UCLA made me proud – and ashamed – but there were great games with Penn State in the 80s.

i want nothing more than at least ONE marquee BCS-league POWERHOUSE team on the schedule each year. not like USC plotting out the bottom dwellers. I want Penn State, I want a pair with ND, and West Virginia, FSU or VaTech, yeah we have UCLA, but I want Cal or USC on our schedule.

And if you dont think a schedule that has those teams on it doesnt help recruiting, yer mad.

  12. “You’re a clever guy, texoz. Carlos Mencia or George Lopez funny. Blue Collar Comedy funny, even. Do you write your own jokes?”
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
nope, some guy in Bangladesh writes them in between taking customer service phone calls for Time Warner. You know. When you call and you get the automated message, “Due to unusual call volume your wait time will be 20 minutes…” That’s when he’s smoking from a hookah and writing my jokes.

Good team that took number 1 seeded Louisville to the wire in last year’s tournament. Start 3 seniors and two juniors, very athletic. Solid pass first point guard. Their leading scorer was player of the year in the conference.

Good club that plays multiple defenses.

I just took Baylor going to the Elite 8. It’s a crazy mixed up world we live in.

Is it just me, or does it pain anyone else to not be able to determine who is going to beat Duke early? It’s bound to happen, but who will it be?

colorado ag, Utah State is as athletic as Nebraska. You’ll be fine as long as they don’t go 16 for 31 from three.

Siena, on the other hand, is going to beat you like you stole something. Maybe not, but the Saints should win.

Great article Scipio. Also, thanks for the dime.

Looking at the Tournament futures market, Vegas is telling us what they think about Onuaku’s health. The Orangemen have the easiest region and road to the fianl four, yet they’re +700 to win it all, while UK and Kansas, teams with much tougher roads, are +250

My brackets are pretty much locked down except the South. Can’t get myself to take Baylor, and Duke doesn’t feel right. Nobody seems to be high on Nova. It’s all about the Big East and Big 12 this year.

Scip, like a peaceful Indian in the 1800’s, I never trust a Mormon that can shoot. Utah State has me worried.

Possibly. However, I’m telling you – the beauty of these intergame lines is that when you see that all-too-familiar big early game lead that you know will evaporate down the stretch as soon as the team starts regressing to their 3 point shooting mean, there’s some money to be made.

Anytime. How far do you think the Aggies go? A lot of people think Utah State is the most dangerous pure shooting team in the tournament.

Last year in Vegas, Friday morning, stumble to the line at 8:30 to make my bets, put $20 on a four-team parlay on the four 9:00 am games, nailed it! Three of the four games’ spread was determined in the final 0:30. Walked away with $220.

Yeah, so what if that is the only

Jordan, all just wild, premature conjecture. I’d hedge that only a third of that 2013 list ever makes an NFL roster. It is picking which third that is the tough part.

    I have:

    Syracuse
    Kansas
    West Virginia
    Baylor

These will all likely change 3-4 times before tomorrow morning.

I don’t have as high an opinion of Ohio State as you do. Evan Turner is fantastic, but I don’t like their odds of taking down Georgetown and KU back-to-back.

Baylor scares me. They have no idea what

Arinze Onuaku’s injury has forced me to turn this year’s bracket prediction into a “Multiple Endings” story. Don’t get me wrong, we’re not hyper-geeks playing Dungeons and Dragons here. We may be wasting billions of dollars in worker productivity, but we’re not killing Orcs with plus 10 vorpal swords of magic.
