Pics of Sergio Kindle’s crash site

Posted by HenryJames on June 27th, 2009 under Football

When we at Barking Carnival heard about Sergio Kindle’s accident, we immediately dispatched our staff photographer to the scene to get some pictures. In other words, I drove by this morning and took some pictures with my iphone before I got breakfast tacos.

The accident occurred at 2704 Rio Grande, and the apartment into which Kindle drove is part of a huge complex. Rio Grande is two lanes but one way. The white truck wouldn’t normally be there at 2 am so it looks like Kindle hopped the curb and then ran into the building with his left front fender.

I wanted to reenact the scene like Vincent D’Onofrio reenacted the Kennedy assassination in ‘The Salton Sea,’ but Sailor Ripley was worried that some pigeons might get hurt. PETA fag.

So it looks like Kindle lost control while texting. Or he was influenced by Jefferson West’s advertising campaign.

“it’s the place to be…”

Apparently.

“. . . so it looks like Kindle hopped the curb and then ran into the building with his left front fender.”

It would be even better if he were travelling the wrong way on Rio Grande and took the building out with his RIGHT front fender.

  2. I lay fresh flowers there every day.

This appears to be a very elaborate frame job. Those guys are clearly breaking into that building.

Clearly, Kindle was opening a tunnel across the Mexican boder to allow these illegals to sneak in.

  6. Before I saw the picture I assumed he had managed to hop a curb and go through a parking lot and then hit an apartment. Those are fairly close to the street an (although unlikely) it is possible to hit that without being trashed on Crown.

The circumstances make it unlikely (2AM, prior DWI, leaving without notifying anyone for 24 hours) and he has some selling to do with Mack Brown if he wants to play in our home opener.

  8. Dude….

Why not just throw a JFK/head shot reference while you are at it?

  9. As if you needed more proof that HenryJames is single, now you have it.

  10. Not to be a douche, but on most vehicles it is redundant to say “left front” or “right front” fender. Unless you’re driving a pick-up, you probably only have two.

  14. This is all a big misunderstanding. There were some thirsty children in there the other day. I’m responsible. Oh yeah!

  15. Well, this is just fucking wonderful.

  16. Posting while driving on the 101. No buildings in sight. Need to give Sergio some lessons.

  17. just a misunderstanding – I’m sure he was just tried, coming back from doing a little volunteer work with the “Unwed Mothers of Austin”

  18. I just saw the pics. Much ado about nothing. I am not even sure that is illegal on west campus.

True story. My old man borrowed a freshman’s brand new bronco circa 1972 and was doing donuts with it on the drag at 27th and Guadalupe at 2:00 AM until he lost control and drove it into a shoe repair store that was roughly where Burger King is now.

He simply turned the car off, left the keys in it, and strolled over to the Sigma Chi house to sleep it off. There were no reprecussions.

  19. I don’t buy it. You can’t text from a Kindle.

Goes to show one should pay the premium rent and get off the ground-floor. Not much of a hole but the news did say if the tenant was studiously studying and not out drinking it up she would be dead.

Hmmmm …. sounds like 2 lessons found here: pay the premium rent and studying too hard can kill.

If it weren’t for George Washington, you’d be speaking English.

  26. I drove by the site today, and those pictures are deceiving. The place where he crashed is close enough to the garage entrance that someone who wasn’t paying attention while driving could hit it. Most students drive 30-35 going down that street, and if he was trying to turn into the garage while texting (stupid), that distance would be easy for car to cover.

He definitely could have been drunk, and leaving the scene is questionable, but those who are arguing that him hitting the building is absolute proof that he was drunk are wrong.

Nice job Hiphop. Very nice to win what is probably the toughest game on the schedule handily, although the Hawks obviously caught UT at a good time.

I don’t think it’s a case of RB not being able to coach, or doing a poor job of coaching. If you read the entirety of Katz’ blog post, he clearly sounds like a coaching searching for answers — answers that come in the form of players contributing, doing what they are coached to do.

We weren’t overly impressive, and at the same time, it may have been this team’s most impressive win. The game didn’t have much rhythm. We never shot it well. In fact, our two best guys can’t be much worse from the field. But damned if we didn’t guard them – especially in that first half.
