This is going to surprise some people, but some sites may have jumped the gun with their information regarding J’Covan Brown. J’Covan is not on campus. He has not made it through the clearinghouse. He may have stopped by, but he can’t participate in regular workouts or live in the dorms until he makes it through the clearinghouse, which hasn’t happened yet. I have heard he’s recently visited family in the Austin area, however.

Let’s continue to be patient on J’Covan’s situation. I still feel good about him getting through the clearinghouse, but it hasn’t happened yet.

OB is reporting that J’Covan may be in the J’house. Buzz coming from campus sources that he has cleared the clearinghouse. However, it’s not 100% confirmed yet.

If true, this team is sick sick sick with talent next year.

At least that was the plan at one time. I just read that Gerry thinks he’s sitting out next year and then playing, so maybe the plan changed. Oops.

Still changes nothing about his relationship to the program and how he’ll always have a home in Austin.

This is actually a great situation for Harrison. His senior year he’ll be able to log a lot playing time and have fun playing when the lights are on and the crowds are in the stands. He’s been a great teammate and a valuable member of the program. In fact he still will be both, as he will be able to come back to Austin next summer and graduate with a UT diploma. He’ll also obviously stay in touch with the program in the meantime. He’s not leaving the program, just taking a little sabbatical.
