We recruited him briefly, along with Louisville, Pitt and a host of others. Everyone ran when they realized he was a lunatic.

Shot four times in high school too.
Transferred to the Hall from New Mexico St after all of the Big Schools gave him the cold shoulder for his recruiting antics.

Baylor scares me. They have no idea what the bright lights feel like.
Huggins also has a horrible history with high seeds from his days at Cincy.
Bingo.

Yet Gary Williams has a ring. Maybe this is Huggy’s year and maybe Scott Drew can get laid in a morgue. Love to see what Huggy could have

Good team that took number 1 seeded Louisville to the wire in last year’s tournament. Start 3 seniors and two juniors, very athletic. Solid pass first point guard. Their leading scorer was player of the year in the conference.
Good club that plays multiple defenses.

colorado ag, Utah State is as athletic as Nebraska. You’ll be fine as long as they don’t go 16 for 31 from three.
Siena, on the other hand, is going to beat you like you stole something. Maybe not, but the Saints should win.

Looking at the Tournament futures market, Vegas is telling us what they think about Onuaku’s health. The Orangemen have the easiest region and road to the fianl four, yet they’re +700 to win it all, while UK and Kansas, teams with much tougher roads, are +250

Possibly. However, I’m telling you – the beauty of these intergame lines is that when you see that all-too-familiar big early game lead that you know will evaporate down the stretch as soon as the team starts regressing to their 3 point shooting mean, there’s some money to be made.

Would like to see Trips’ game-by-game projection and a Texas hoops timeline thang.
When will they peak? When will they tank? Who plays when and against whom?
Knowing what we know now, what’s everybody’s prediction?

How many future NBA players will be on next year’s team? At least four…
-Pittman
-James
-Hamilton
-Bradley
Very high likelihood that three of those will get drafted in the NBA in 2010. I’m hoping Bradley stays two years, but he could also go in 2010.
A few of these guys could develop enough to see some NBA playing time down the road.
-Ward
-Johnson
-Wangmene
-Dogus
Bottom line, just an amazing amount of talent next year.

barnes couldn’t really mesh james, durant, and dj, so i’m skeptical right now until I see it. weren’t we knocked out 1st round with those 3? and then couldn’t get past a horribly coached lsu team to get to the final 4 with pj,booby, and LA.
This team will be even harder to plug in the pieces because they run 10 deep, easily. Hopefully this will make Barnes shift his “offensive philosophy” just a bit.
Either way, can’t fucking wait for this team to hit the court.

“barnes couldn’t really mesh james, durant, and dj, so i’m skeptical right now”
Barnes can’t win with this.
He only got the highest seed ever for a team that young.
He gets no credit for what they accomplished because he was able to send Durant out after one year (which was a foregone conclusion) as NPOY (which wasn’t) and DJ after two (which also wasn’t) as the best PG in the nation (ditto).
EggNog said:
June 14th, 2009 at 7:50 am
Barnes was going to have problems spreading the ball around with or without James. James is a garbage basket scorer, so we don’t need to run offense through him. We are better off not running offense through him because he doesn’t have the skillset. As the 3rd or 4th option on the court, he will absolutely destroy other teams who let him get a clean run to the basket away from the ball.
I would think that Barnes will give the most minutes to the guys who prove they will move the ball around and make that extra pass. Guys who play one on one and shoot contested jumpers should ride pine. A team oriented offensive attack will blow teams out consistently, the ball staying in one place too long will allow teams to keep up with us.
Trips Right said:

Egg nailed it. Damion’s return also legitimizes our ability to play up tempo. You can’t run if you can’t board.
skymonkeyhorn said:
June 14th, 2009 at 9:39 am
Hopefully Barnes plays more uptempo with any 5 guys he throws out there, the talent is that good.
Defense will be sooo good that it will make me cry a bit. Half court Barnes will have the guys that make the pass into the post past the free throw line and from the top of the key. Dog, Avery,Hamilton can make that pass into Dex.
If Barnes gets past his fear to run and press the other team will have a ton of pressure on it to keep up with us. Now we see if Barnes can adapt to the talent that he has. This appears to be the best 10 players that Texas has ever had on the same team.
Defense will determine who gets the minutes as the offense is 75% better then last year.
Mr. Patron says to stock up and get to more games because its for real….
