Tim Floyd Resigns

Posted by Trips Right on June 10th, 2009 under Uncategorized

According to the only media entity intent on seeing USC punished for using its powers for evil instead of good. Could Floyd be the sacrificial lamb that takes the onus off of the football program? Or, is Tim Floyd just pissed off because he’s being thrown under the bus?

“Unfortunately, I no longer feel I can offer the level of enthusiasm to my duties that is deserved by the university, my coaching staff, my players, their families, and the supporters of Southern Cal.”

If I had to guess, I would think it’s a little bit of both. This guy knows how to play the game. Hell, he was able to deliver ballers like Tiim Hardaway, Antonio Davis, Greg Foster, and Chris Sandle to El Paso, Texas. It’s tantamount to getting anyone from Chicago, Los Angeles, or Phoenix to go to Norman, Oklahoma. It’s a special skill that requires an X chromosome devoid of any ethical reflection or thought. Or, in the case of Barry Switzer, an extra chromosome altogether.

Look, do I really think USC gets hammered here? No. But I didn’t believe in a higher power until HenryJames predicted Gloria Esteban would leave the Miami Sound Machine.

My long banishment has reformed me and educated me on the meek and subservient ways of the Bark. Please don’t ban the Shag Ag no more. He will conform and be like a good mamma’s boy on this site from now on.

Hey “the bobs”, didn’t you say that it would be a cold day in hell before USC would feel any heat from the NCAA?

As usual, the Shag Ag warnings were right on the money about the USC scenario, just as he is on every other subject in the universe, if everyone else hasn’t noticed by now.

Remember “the bobs”, the Shag Ag rules.

  17. well, I don’t recall making that exact remark, but… do you really call this “feeling heat”? This is analogous to Stoops throwing Bomar and Quinn under the bus and pretending that Big Red chose to pay a freshman QB and a 3rd string OL and acted completely legally with EVERY SINGLE OTHER 20 players they had there…

Now if the NCAA manages to find that credible – under oath – reports that USC football players were receiving directly and indirectly hundreds of thousands of dollars of improper benefits are reason enough to actually impose real costs on their football program (i.e. lost scholarships, things that hurt their future, not “oops, don’t count those games in the win column, now that they don’t mean anything” punishments), then you can come back and ask about Hades’ weather reports.

Losing a coach who very visibly skirted the edges when he wasn’t knee deep in the muck, from a basketball program without elite history and made no major national impact… well, your aggies certainly wouldn’t consider it “heat”. Jackie Sherrill would laugh at the concept… and then try to take some of the basketball “recruiting budget” and buy a few more cars to spread around…

“then you can come back and ask about Hades’ weather reports.”

Yea, “the Bobs”, I know I spoke a little too soon, but, sorry, I really can’t be blamed for wanting to savor the moment a little before it’s time. I am looking so forward to rubbing your little weenie face in my perrenial correctness and in your perrenial wrongness.

From what I can tell, odds are high that your face is going to be knee deep in my distasteful (for you) correctness and with all the humiliation and the disgrace that goes along with it. Get ready for that weather report, brother.

  20. yeah, it’s hard to take someone seriously when they brag about their “perrenial correctness” without a hint of irony…

I have a question for you, seriously – even when you’re among Aggies, are you considered the “slow one”?

colorado ag, Utah State is as athletic as Nebraska. You’ll be fine as long as they don’t go 16 for 31 from three.

Siena, on the other hand, is going to beat you like you stole something. Maybe not, but the Saints should win.

Looking at the Tournament futures market, Vegas is telling us what they think about Onuaku’s health. The Orangemen have the easiest region and road to the fianl four, yet they’re +700 to win it all, while UK and Kansas, teams with much tougher roads, are +250

Possibly. However, I’m telling you – the beauty of these intergame lines is that when you see that all-too-familiar big early game lead that you know will evaporate down the stretch as soon as the team starts regressing to their 3 point shooting mean, there’s some money to be made.
