I would consider Maryland, historically, a top third ACC job, yeah. UNC and Duke better. After that?

Top? It ain’t gonna be UNC. You mean like Duke? Johnny Dawkins took the Stanford job so that when K hangs it up, he’d have HC on his resume.

I suppose he’d have a shot at it, but that’s not really my point. That is, what do you consider a top-tier ACC job? Both Virginia (not a top-tier job) and Maryland (probably so) have new arenas and a ton of seats to fill.

If Maryland calls, I think Capel would listen hard.

The Georgia story isn’t new, it’s been around all season.

I think eventually we will lose him, but not to an also-ran, even if it’s ACC. He’s building something that’s really working and pretty big. My money says he sticks around until a top tier ACC comes calling. But, when that happens he goes. 2-3 more years.

I have heard 3.6 million figure mentioned in Chicago two days ago. With all the extras thrown in??
Griffin goes, Willie has people whispering in his ear that it time to fly the coop.
Gallon is almost OK. TMG is for real.

Umm Gallon is okay, and TMG is nice, but you’re nuts to think ou will be anywhere near as good without Griffin. And there’s a solid chance that Warren leaves early.

Double your salary and move out of Norman. What’s not to like?

With what he has coming back and the quality of his 2009 recruiting class, Capel would be an absolute fool to take any of those jobs mentioned! Capel’s no fool. This is nothing more than wishful thinking for some who fear good competition.

Last year both OU and Georgia brought in about 6.5 million in basketball revenue — but Georgia cleared 3.5 million, while OU had more expenses and only cleared 1 million.

Wonder if OU would think it would be cost effective to match such an offer.

I was told Georgia will go as high as $2.8 million to get Capel.
