If anyone in the BC bracket called this game they should immediately be hired as an assistant coach. Because that would be an act of pure witchcraft.

Huskies putting the finishing touches on Steve Alford’s feathers.
I must admit, that I had only watched a bit of the Huskies this year and didn’t hold them in high regard coming into the tourney. They’ve impressed me the first two rounds….That said, UNM was a weak 3 seed, but there are no

Yikes, not good for the Big XII, and I really don’t see TMJ going in the first round either, so he isn’t likely to “get paid” regardless.

Yeah, my bracket is f#$ked.
So be it. It’s fun to watch how good these mid-major teams are. Upsets used to all be the same — a smaller team gets hot and hits 3s. Not now. These mid-majors flat-out beat highly ranked teams now.

Agreed. That’s why Dex would have fouled out. Shot-blocking is much less important that not allowing the other team to get into comfortable low post/rebounding position.

Awesome. KU is only going to make it one round farther than we did.
The karma ship is beginning to right itself.

UNI up by 7 points with about a minute and 15 left. Collins has 5 TO’s.
In defense of Dex, our defensive scheme didn’t allow him to just sit in front of the rim. A big Barnes’ mistake this year.

That aggy depth chart at DT would be even more brutal if we’d been able to convince Davis to switch his commit. As it is, not good.

I loved atlantasooner’s whining about McFarland’s fifth star. He essentially posits that McFarland lost it because he picked OU over Texas. Vast left wing conspiracy, etc. Meh.
I wish we were as powerful as they think we are.

So did we also arrange for John Chiles to lose his fifth star after he too played like shit in his all-star game? We’re so tricky.

The Ags so needed a site like that. It seems that the world of UT sports interweb musings is spread out and diversified over a few sites and the internet version of capitalism has improved the quality of each site and therefore the overall fan experience. The ags seem to have only texags, which is humorless to the core without the delusion or longhorn trolls. The delusion hurts the information seeking as well. I will spread the word to all ags about spence park soap box.

Believe me, we all debated even putting it up. Delusion seems to sell better in our world.
Still, I’m eternally optimistic and a homer to the core. Most people work out every day to look good. I work out every day so I can live to be 127 and increase the odds of seeing an Aggie National Championship in my lifetime.
Feel free to drop by anytime, guys!

I’m most concerned about OU’s JC OL. If they can get a starter out of that, they are in much better shape for next year than they would have been otherwise.

You know texags isn’t that different from hornfans, orangebloods, aggieyell – any big fan site. Each site can be dominated by a vocal dumb minority while a silent majority just reads and lurks. And yearns for interesting stuff.
The SpenceParkSoapBox guys just need to decide whether they want to market themselves or not. It’s embarrassing to throw up a link of something you’ve written as it seems self-promotional, but think of your own perspective as a consumer of media: if someone links me up to quality opinion and humor, I feel hugely grateful. And if what someone linked sucks, I click, discern this in ten seconds, and then I never go back. No harm, no foul.
Taylor:
First year JUCO OL starters are a dicey proposition at best. OU does a nice job of coaching OL up though, so we’ll see.

As long as they actually stay on campus, that is. Jerry Schmidt’s CMF summer boot camps have run off more people than the Janjaweed.

ctex80,
Whining about McFarland?
I think the main point that I was trying to make is that I was unable to get a reasonable explanation from anyone at Rivals as to why McFarland dropped. He got props during US Army practices and certainly didn’t play badly in that game. I’ll give you he wasn’t dominating like Gerald McCoy, but again I have seen anything close to an objective reason why he dropped.
Probably being paranoid but his drop coincided with his verbal to OU over UT.
The bigger injustice was with Ronnell Lewis that kid is going to be a huge star at OU.

Totally did not know ou and aggy had a BC type site. Of course, my job caught on that BC is a “blog” and blocked it. I can still get to the Tech site, though… go figure.
Anyways, glad to see smart talk about sports expanding. It’ll be good to keep up with how Big 12 sports in general are doing while at work. It’s not Texas talk, but it will tide me over until August when I go back to grad school and can access any dang site I want. :-)

SPSB will develop its own identity, but I agree that a BC-type Aggie website is long overdue for the very reason you cite: smart sports talk is sorely lacking and there’s a huge untapped audience for it.

Atlantasooner,
I don’t know who you talked to at Rivals regarding the loss but I have spoken to someone and it was not about the All star game, but rather the entire senior season that was the cause. I also hail from Lufkin and many there who have no OU or UT ties told me that he really had a dissapointing senior season. He’s a very good player and may turn out to be great but not worthy of 5 stars according to every unbiased person I have spoken to.
