A two dribble, thirty-five foot form jumper for the win at the buzzer is Player of the Year worthy stuff.
It was a great shot by a great player that will be shown 8 billion times between now and the end of March.
It was also a shot that was entirely preventable if

There isn’t a whole lot to say about this one. Though the Mavericks tried to show us last night that

Unlike Hamilton and Brown, Bradley can make this move to the NBA because he has the defensive skills to play on the next level.
If I were Avery, I would leave if the recruiting class is not going to give them a chance to win next year. He really needs to work on his ball

Ugh…if Hamilton and Bradley ditch for the NBA I’ll start to move out of the Rick Barnes camp because this team doesn’t have a great contingency for that event. Especially if Varez Ward can’t come back healthy.
That would take away probably the 2 best shooters on the team and replace them with Dogus, Ward, Brown,

Milk,
I don’t think JCB is going to sit at the end of the bench though. He needs to understand what his coach and team needs. Better sustained effort, better ball protection, and better defense. He has offensive skills that someone like Justin Mason just doesn’t possess, but yet lacks the physical talent

Yeah, but here’s the thing — you have to have some way to resolve draws. Endless extra time is impractical, because these games are played in the midst of regular league and domestic cup features — you just can’t play that much extar football. Penalty shots are even more arbitrary than away goals.

Mistakes from nerves should not be a reason to unjustly allow one goal to count as two. It goes against the true laws of the game. No other sport has a “point” (goal in this case) scored by one team counting for more than what it would for the other team. It

How can you say that DJ isn’t the best in the state ? It is true, he doesn’t have the breakaway speed that Seastrunk has, but I gurantee you that he is a better receiver and picks up the blitz(hes 220lb.) better than most. Oh yeah, he breaks 3-4 tackles on just about every play. Only time will tell, but if you undervalue him, he will be wearing sooner colors come the fall of 11′.

I singled him out to make a point about how perception is reality for lots of fans that follow recruiting.
And no, I’ve never seen him play. But I’ve talked to five guys who have, and none of them said he was the best running back they had seen in state. And it looks like the majority of college coaches that recruit the state agree.

Texas fans will invariably be disappointed on a few of our commits. It happens every year. Why? Because they decided that a player whom they’ve never seen play is the best player at his position. Why? Because someone else said so. For example, a few months ago word got out that Jerry Scarborough was going to make Denison RB DJ Jones his top player in the state. Naturally a lot of Texas fans thought it was because the Texas coaches thought Jones was the best player in the state. He’s not. If he were, they would have invited him to a junior day. They haven’t. And 99.9% of these fans have never even seen so much as a picture of Jones.
That bears repeating.
