LMAO...which reminds me, now that I live in Houston I can go see the Penders offense any time I want! Lucky me!

Didn't mean to imply that you did. I just don't think that until then, I ever saw him pass the ball. (Nor Gary Johnson, but I digress.)

I'd love to see them dump it down, and kick it back for an open three. Or dump it down, kick it back, and dump it down again. Relatively elementary stuff that they just don't do. But if they did...

Problem is that the Barnes offense seems to require the PG to dribble aimlessly unless the first pass leads directly to a shot. At least it's not the Penders O... first guy who can see the rim clearly can fire it up.

Bob, I'm not asking him to be the point man on the break. I just want him to get a touch or two inside. You know, run some sets for him. A dive to the goal after a ball screen. Some cross screens to free him up on the block. Some high/low sets with Gary at the elbow delivering down low. Some counters off of AJ's staggered baseline screen game. If that happens for 10 possessions the entire game, I'd be happy.

"On offense, it would be really cool to see the offense run through Dex."

The other night, he was in the position of passing on the move after they broke pressure... it was not pretty.

If he can play 20 minutes a game, stay out of foul trouble, rebound, and average 10 points, I think we should be really happy.

It should be a pretty physical game (Big 12 vs Big 10, both of which have always been physical conferences) so maybe Dex will be permitted some contact. I'm encouraged that last game in 24 minutes of action, Dex had 3 blocks and a steal with only 2 fouls.

As you mentioned, Mich State only has a couple of bona fide outside shooters so maybe the horns can get away with mostly sinking into the middle on D. When Dex is playing and the opponent is a big team that does not shoot particularly well, Barnes may want to consider playing his matchup zone.

Rebounding and transition D are really going to be important against Mich State.

On offense, it would be really cool to see the offense run through Dex. If it turns out that he can do a good job of passing out of double teams, that would be a huge boost to the offense.
