I love rooting against the Big East in the tournament. Georgetown in trouble and Marqette in a battle with the Huskies (Grr!). Need the ‘Horns to hold serve for the Big XII tonight.
Btw, my Red Raiders beat down Seton Hall, so this is theme with me, Big XII vs Big East.

Fantastic write-up. I always thought Marlon ran harder than people gave him credit for. His freshman year, it seemed like time & again he was grabbed as soon as he got the pitch or the handoff but managed to turn 3-5 yard losses into one yard gains.
He never had the breakaway speed or top-notch elusiveness

Pete is right about Marlon’s running style, Lucky needed to have the ball in space to be effective at all. I think he had a nice career overall though, keep in mind he did have those injury issues his senior year.

Yeah, that Purdue pick was awesome. It seems like I heard something about them having injuries, but it slipped my mind when making picks. I’ve literally not seen them play for one second this season. Not a highlight, nothing. Good work.
1-2 to start things off, I think it’s clear I’m going to own this thing.

No. Fucking. Way.
Why are Texas fans so willing to let Florida jump us with an inferior resume? Because they’re playing hot right now? That’s the same damn reason OU is ahead of us, but somehow it only applies to Florida. Florida lost to Ole Miss. They have beaten Georgia and FSU outside of their big win against Alabama. This is easy, guys. We have the better signature win, better quality wins, and the better loss. Don’t believe me? Ask the computers. This fucking defeatism is driving me crazy.

Bah, I read “draft” somehow. I’m on edge right now. I had a poll up asking whether Texas should be ranked ahead of Florida if Florida won the SEC, and I only got about 45% for Texas over Florida. Pissed me off. Apologize for the rage.
But still, the Texas hype machine gave up when OU went to KC.

Actually this is the first blogpoll I just winged by myself so none of the Barkers who actually know their shit can be faulted.
I do think Florida is better than Texas. I also think we’re better than everybody else. Hence the vote.
I’m not Mack Brown voting Texas 2 in the final coach’s poll. We’re supposed to treat the blogpoll with objectivity. If this poll had an ounce of carry in the actual results, I’d vote us # 1. Duh.
Florida’s loss was worse than our loss. The SEC also isn’t “all that”. That said, if I had to bet met my children’s life on the winner of a Florida / Texas match up, I’d take Florida.

If you think UF’s defense is as great as the east coast media does, have you taken a look at the “formidable” offenses (or lack thereof) that they have faced? It’s a joke. Bottom line is we don’t really know how good the Gator defense is. Based on talent, which is all we can objectively compare, UT’s defense should theoretically be just as good as theirs. It will be interesting to see whether they can hold OUs offense to any less than the 35 that UT and TCU did.
Looking ahead, post Jan. 8, if OU does beat Florida and we decisively beat tOSU, there is no reason why we shouldn’t be ranked #1 in the AP poll, and thus co-national champs.

BCS DECLARES GERMANY WINNER OF WORLD WAR II
US Ranked 4th
After
determining the Big-12 championship game participants the BCS computers
were put to work on other major contests and today the BCS declared
Germany to be the winner of World War II.
“Germany put together
an incredible number of victories beginning with the annexation of
Austria and the Sudetenland and continuing on into conference play with
defeats of Poland, France, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium and the
Netherlands. Their only losses came against the US and Russia; however
considering their entire body of work–including an incredibly tough
Strength of Schedule–our computers deemed them worthy of the #1
ranking.”
Questioned about the #4 ranking of the United States
the BCS commissioner stated “The US only had two major victories–
Japan and Germany . The computer models, unlike humans, aren’t
influenced by head-to-head contests–they consider each contest to be
only a single, equally-weighted event.”
German
Chancellor Adolph Hitler said “Yes, we lost to the US ; but we defeated
#2 ranked France in only 6 weeks.” Herr Hitler has been criticized for
seeking dramatic victories to earn ’style points’ to enhance Germany ’s
rankings. Hitler protested “Our contest with Poland was in doubt until
the final day and the conditions in Norway were incredibly challenging
and demanded the application of additional forces.”
The
French ranking has also come under scrutiny. The BCS commented “France
had a single loss against Germany and following a preseason #1 ranking
they only fell to #2.”
Japan was ranked #3 with victories including Manchuria, Borneo and the Philippines.
