Big 12 Runner-Up is . . .

Posted by ChrisApplewhite on December 6th, 2008 under Uncategorized

coming up. 80% chance I will want to kill myself in the next hour so this may end up being a short effort. Not abnormal for me, right ladies?

Murray starts the game by sprinting 35 yards and falling to the first guy that touches him. Better than anyone else ever has.

Missouri’s defense looks into it.

Doesn’t matter. I wonder what else is on.

That might be an incompletion. They should check.

They will. Brent Musburger has time to run downstairs and blow Bob Stoops real fast. Best way to face Bob Stoops is to go deep, Brent.

Can you imagine if Roy Miller and Jeremy Maclin had stuck with OU?

Missouri’s offense look like they left their case of the dumbfucks at home. We can only hope. Don’t screw us again, Daniel.

Games like this — where both offenses are good and both start out hot — always come down to which offense cools off first. It’ll be 21 all before someone starts fumbling or dropping passes or something.

Or, for instance, getting dropped on 3rd and 2 then missing a FG.

Well, aside from the fumble-instead-of-FG I am right on schedule here.

You know the possibility does exist that OU is a better team and Sam Bradford is a better QB. We are one retirement/hire-by-someone-else from not having to do this every year, but right now? Who would you rather play if you’re Florida? Us, right?

My least favorite thing about the Big 12 is the legality of the ‘headlock’ blocking maneuver, where the defender gets past the OL but the blocker can just put his arms across the chest of the defender, or under his shoulders like a half-nelson and somehow block him from behind. I hate that shit and it’s never, ever called.

Missouri’s defense has 3 NFL prospects on it.

Hmm. FX is showing X-Men 3. I hate Brett Ratner but I like the X-Men. Except that bitch Rogue. The movies ruined her. And whatever happened to Gambit? He’d the coolest one. Arizona/Arizona State and WVU/USF are playing, too. Lots of options.

Witherspoon got blocked in the back on that TD run. The replay showed it pretty clearly. I wonder if a Big 12 ref had seen Oswald shoot JFK, if he’d say anything.

Chase Daniel is top heavy. He looks like a normal sized person with twig legs and a big, fat head. It makes him look like a baby.

End of the first, Sooners up 10-0. I’m honestly not sure which of these two teams should be more ashamed. Sooners have been taking things that aren’t theirs for centuries, though.

Jeremy Maclin is fast. 10-7. I still bought tickets for Milk tonight at Alamo downtown for 10pm. I heard it’s good, but I don’t like Sean Penn or Emile Hirsch. Whatever, beats watching this.

I’m calling it now: OUabig12trophy vs. UF.

Two kickoffs in a row from the 15. That’s probably a first. 17-7.

Best case scenario for us here is Missouri gets a TD, stops OU, then scores again before the half. Here is how it will play out: Missouri FG, Sooner TD, Missouri punt, Sooner TD. Watch.

. . . that fumble happen. Is there some sort of unclutch Heisman you can win? Daniel deserves it. What a turd of a season he’s had.

If you were Florida, who would you rather play in a month? If you’re the Lions, who are you hoping comes out? I’m just saying, maybe the BCS is right. The good news is that we are one retirement/hire-by-someone-else from taking our rightful place.

Chase Daniel nearly fumbled again. I’d punch him in the head, if I thought he would feel it at all.

Yes, DeMarco Murray really makes this team go.

Meanwhile, Sam Bradford is a machine. I’ve said, since Heupel left, that the only thing holding OU back was shitty QB play. They finally have a legit one, and they might score 300+ points in 5 games.

31-7. Pssh. Our game was 35-3.

38-7. We were 32 better, not 31, suckers.

I had no idea Harvey Milk dies. Now I do. Great night for me!

    MU wins tonight.

Milk will not end so well. Something to do with sugary snack foods, if I recall.

You didn’t need to buy tickets to Milk to see someone die tonight. There’s a mass slaughter on in K.C. tonight.

Pinkel just said that MU would do the best they could in the second half.

To me, that just screams “come from behind victory.”

  5. This conference is making a mockery of the rulebook. The NCAA rulebook specifically calls out holding in the ETHICS portion of the rules, clearly stating that coaching your players to intentionally hold is UNETHICAL and that holding is a SERIOUS VIOLATION.

And yet it is beyond obvious at this point that our conference office has instructed the officials not to call holding. It’s also beyond obvious that this clear edict has created a situation where it is to a team’s competitive advantage to coach their players to intentionally hold, which is a clear violation of the rules as well as explicitly stated coaching ethics.

And before any know-it-alls chime in, I am talking about the holding that is illegal. Hands inside the framework of the defender is explicitly condoned in the rules. Grasping the defender outside the framework, e.g., by the outside of the shoulder pads, is clearly illegal.

  6. Horn in Tyler said:

    December 6th, 2008 at 7:04 pm

They won’t call holding, which involves actual physical contact, but they’ll sure as hell throw a flag if you call an opposing player a name. Has the world gone mad?!?

  7. My Arrowhead sources tell me Pinkel is spending halftime on a pay phone in the hallway talking to Washington.

  8. You didn’t need to buy tickets to Milk to see someone die tonight. There’s a mass slaughter on in K.C. tonight.

No no, I have it on good authority that OU and Bob Stoops are classy. I’m sure he’ll pull back after the first possession of the 3rd Q like we did vs. Colorado a few years ago.

    Not.

    Predicted final: 66-21

Did you hear the nice little gem Musberger dropped to the Big 12 commish at the end of the interview… He said, “Your officials are doing a very good job out there tonight.”…. I really wish Musberger would hang it up.

It’s obvious from Beebe’s comments that they teach their refs to not call holding. He kept mentioning how good the offenses are in the Big 12. What a fucking conspiracy…

  11. Horn in Tyler said:

    Musberger is probably drunk, y’all.

And Kirk REALLY wants to see 60. WTF!?!

  12. from espn’s front page:
Florida took care of business against Alabama. And now in the Big 12 championship game, Oklahoma is proving the BCS pollsters got the rankings correct.

  13. Not only are they rooting for 60 in garbage time, they are acting like it is some sort of meaningful thing.

  14. why is it that you only hear about the “holding” from texas fans? and only when someone scores on them? Is it to hard to believe that OU is actually better than you this late in the season? Once again shown that they can beat someone worse than Texas…. Enjoy the Fiesta – LOSERS!

  15. Stuck in MN said:

    December 6th, 2008 at 8:42 pm

Oh the irony of a sooner calling us losers. someone explain to him what that is.

  16. The most classless bunch of cock sucking bastards in the history of college football. What goes around comes around, and I am looking forward to Stoop’s and OU’s comeuppance. Fuck ‘em and feed ‘em fish heads. If I were Pinkel, I would have punched the prick.

  17. Stuck in MN said:

Serious question- if colt comes back and Bradford goes pro, does Mack consider running it up in Dallas next year? I would, but then I’m a mean vindictive eye for an eye type of guy.

  18. BoomerFreakinSooner said:

    December 6th, 2008 at 9:08 pm

Mack should run it up next year, if he can.

  19. What a classless prick. Clock is running down. Snapping it w/ 20 seconds left. No huddle. 1st team still in while Mizz has 2nd team in. Bradford throws a 50 yd post in double coverage. I was seriously hoping Pinkel would walk across the field then and bitch slap the bitch in the visor.

Here’s the deal. 20 or so teams in the nation could score 60 a game in maybe even 7-8 straight. But they don’t because they have class. What a turd.

And yes, good to finally see who finishes behind us in the conference.

  20. We’ve got scoreboard with sooners. I’m okay with that until college football gets a playoff.

Enjoy it land thieves while Florida gets their sloppy seconds on you.

  21. soonerfan…………….

You hear holding from us because you are holding. Other teams see it too, but you only lurk on our boards so you wouldn’t know.

    Second…

You guys looked really good coming into Dallas too. Funny how defense can make a team look “like they are playing better since Dallas”. Considering that was the best team you faced all year, what do you expect?

Lastly………….. saying the words “Losers”, implies that we actually lost, which we didn’t. Using the term winners would be the more appropriate application

    Thank You

  22. Bob Stoops is a Satan-worshiping faggot.

  23. Couldn’t make myself cheer for that walking cheese log with the cranium. Everytime he scrambles, I keep waiting for Viggo to come galloping up and haul him over the back of his horse by his shirt. In the end, I wanted the golf prick to pop 70 on the shiney Pinkel Taurus.

That $2.5 million per really started paying dividends immediately, didn’t it, Tiger fans? What is the worst losing streak ever following a big raise & extension? I’m thinking that with a bowl loss, 0-3 would be right there.

  24. “Here’s the deal. 20 or so teams in the nation could score 60 a game in maybe even 7-8 straight. But they don’t because they have class. What a turd.”

    No, just no.

  25. “iamaturdfan”, look up the qtr most teams pull their starters or begin running fullback dive after fullback dive. Also look up the amount of times others kneel vs an Oklahoman Prick ass rubbing it in. And while you’re at it, decide on jorts or cargo shorts today. May be the most difficult part of your day. I do believe in that previous post. It can easily be done.

  26. HornbyMarriage said:

I will back-up WWGDD whole heartedly. The media’s take last night was “OU proves it deserves this by scoring 62″. What a bunch of bullshit. We could absolutely face rape a bunch of these weak ass B12 defenses in trash time if we wanted too, and so could a lot of other good teams. It’s CLASSLESS, and I hope there is some backlash at some point within the coaching community and the media. If I was coaching those kids and had to deal with the fallout of having their noses rubbed in it, I would definitely want to punch visor boy in the nuts after that shit. Repeatedly. Until he spat blood. Crimson blood…sorry gotta go beat my OU fan neighbors cat now…

  27. …and so all the fans in Texasland laid their large, sobbing heads on their giant orange pillows and softly cried themselves to sleep.

    The end.

  28. “…and at least one fan in Tigerland laid back in his bed, content with his team being OU’s bitch that day.”

  29. HornbyMarriage said:

Now that I’ve cooled off a bit (and beat a Sooner cat into submission) I can only take solace in the fact that I believe:

    1. We exceeded our wildest expectations this year.
    2. We’re gonna kick ass in the bowl game.
    3. Unless Colt leaves, we beat the crap out of OU next year (and everyone else), with or without Bradford.
    4. Our defense will be the best in the Big 12 if not the nation. See #3 above.

P.S. I’ve asked Santa to tell Muschamp to brink Orakpo and Miller into GD’s and “persuade” him to fix the running game too.

Just in case you were wondering, Green Bay just had a 99-yd KO return for a touchdown called back for a holding penalty.

CBS got a great shot of the infraction – it was a ‘half-nelson’ block that ChrisApplewhite described on one of the other threads, where the GB player got hands around the front and back of the opponent, essentially engaging from the side of the player. Evidently, this is the customary blocking technique for OU and Tech linemen in particular, if 2008 is any indication.

What’s interesting is that the GB player probably engaged that hold for no more than a second before releasing it – apparently plenty long enough for an NFL official to recognize and flag the block.

So Sooner fans, which is it: are Big XII officials so incompetent that they can’t identify holding, or are they instructed not to flag it?

  32. No no, I have it on good authority that OU and Bob Stoops are classy. I’m sure he’ll pull back after the first possession of the 3rd Q like we did vs. Colorado a few years ago.

Wow, Stoopsie held back and only put up 62. My apologies, he is not nearly the classless prick that I thought he was at halftime.
