Great JTT. Agree on ACC - bizarre year for that conference. PSU is really good. Winning like that in the Shoe was impressive.
On to Lubbock. Hook Em!

PSU is loaded with speed on both sides of the ball. This has been evident all year, and the sports media seem to finally be figuring it out. They don't deploy it well on offense, but they damn sure do on defense.

Fully agree also on your comments about SEC defenses. There are four teams in the Big 12 South and 1 in the North that would average 40+ points in the SEC, just as they do in the Big 12. Florida and Georgia are both demonstrating that you just have to play a little competent offense to get that done.

Great write-up. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I laughed out loud at your Ball State comments.

By the way, Penn State is neither slow nor un-athletic on either side of the ball. Can we put this mythology to rest? If the southern football fans of the Big 12 or SEC think their champ will simply roll Penn State in a BCS title match-up, I think they are mistaken.

You and I are in a distinct minority of agreement here. I think Penn State is fast at all of their skill positions and they have great quickness in their front 7. I think people are far too dismissive of them.

Any SEC offense with the capability to attack (which eliminates Auburn) can score in this league.

A-MEN. There are ten teams in the SEC whose primary goal on any offensive series is to get to the 50 yard line and punt hoping that they can pin the other offense inside the 5 and force a turnover. Jesus - I'm a Texas fan. It's not like I can't recognize Akers football when I see it.

I love defensive football, but I would rather dine out of my cat's litter box than have steak and iced tea in Branson, Mo.
