According to Sooner Scoop. There’s a chance starting Center John Cooper will be limited as well. Bodes well for Texas especially when you consider the Sooner scouting report from Barking’s Jimmy The Greek.
Injuries, Oklahoma Sooners, Red River Shootout, Texas Longhorns

Big East intimidation? Pff, whatever.
Halftime Thoughts
Except for some sloppy ball-handling from Darko, Davis, and Tairu, I couldn’t be happier with the way we’re playing. Obviously Herb Pope’s punch to Darko’s groin and subsequent ejection was the defining event. Tech went on a 13-0 run after the play, and that equals our lead at this point.

If NU really wants to win they need to take a page from TO’s coaching career.
1. Never let great talent leave the state, Nebraska is desolate for talent so when a good player comes around you have to land him.
2. Develop a “system” where talent can flourish and help the team.

Nate, I think your argument is pretty solid for the SEC, Big 12 and Pac 10 but not so much on the Big 10. If you look at the 2009 Sagarin strength of sked: ND-37, Ohio St-50, Iowa-41, Penn St-73. Not so sure joining the Big 10 really helps ND’s chances. With

I think Kiffin’s staff is competent enough, particularly Papa Kiffin (DC), John Baxter (a pretty good ST coach), and Todd McNair is a decent RB
bigdukesix commented on the blog post Bush Paves the Way for Henderson? 5 hours, 22 minutes ago
Kiffin’s father is a great coach, but the rest of that staff isn’t. Orgeron and Kiffin are both good, dirty recruiters and mediocre to poor gameday coaches.
How important is that in college football? How good of a gameday coach is Mack Brown? Greg Davis?
Orgeron is actually a damn fine defensive line coach,

I get what you’re saying, but honestly, it’s a cop out. Period. If the AD was to actually commit some resources into building a program, we would be competitive and probably would even give K-State a run for its money. We may never be a KU, but we sure as hell wouldn’t

Totally agree re: RJ. I’m hesitant to shout it from the mountain tops until he does it against a contending team. So far his success has been against 2nd tier teams.
Ginobili is just incredible to watch right now. Just goes to show how hurt he really must have been last season.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP)—Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops expects No. 1 Oklahoma to be at full strength this Saturday when the Sooners face fifth-ranked Texas in the annual Red River Rivalry game.
Although defensive tackle Gerald McCoy and center Jon Cooper sustained minor injuries against Baylor, Stoops said both could return this week to face the Longhorns—and the Sooners might even have injured defensive linemen Demarcus Granger and Frank Alexander back.
“Everyone practiced to some degree today, and right now our trainers are pretty optimistic and feel that everyone will be ready to play. Now, I’m not going to detail it the whole week on who is where, what percentage. I don’t know how to do any of that,” Stoops said after practice.
“It’s their feeling today that everyone is expected to play.”
Stoops said the only two players who are definitely out are third-string tight end Eric Mensik and reserve cornerback Jonathan Nelson.
McCoy, a dominant inside presence who has 1 1/2 sacks this season, was walking gingerly after injuring his toe two days earlier. He’s still expected to play against the Longhorns.
“I’m good. I’m always good. You can always count on me being out there,” McCoy said, playfully repeating himself to reiterate his point: “I’m good. I’m good, everybody. I’m good.”
An Oklahoma City native, McCoy will be playing in his second Red River Rivalry game and said he’s been trying to keep himself from looking ahead to the game the last couple weeks.
“There’s no way I’ll miss it,” McCoy said.
He was able to hop off the field on one leg after he was hurt in the second quarter against the Bears.
“My dad always told me, ‘G, if you can get up, get up and get off the field. Don’t lay there,”’ McCoy said.
Granger, a former starter who played in a reserve role at the start of this season, has been out since injuring his left foot against Washington three weeks ago. He was off limits to reporters Monday night.
Alexander, a backup, has been sidelined since he was stabbed in the arm during a melee at a Norman nightclub following the Sooners’ season opener against Chattanooga.

Basically if your torso is connected to the legs somewhere in the hip region, Stoops will make you play. Anybody that passes the eyeball test and still can’t go just mysteriously disappears.

I would actually rather play against an injured starter, than a healthy backup.
The coaching staff will leave the starter in there while they hobble all over the field(Orakpo/Miller last year) in hopes that they miraculously heal themselves during the course of play, and start flying all over the football field.
Meanwhile there is a guy sitting on the bench who, while not as good as said starter normally, is perfectly capable, and more able- bodied right now……. typical coaches!
