Great article on the ‘Cats. Yes, my alma mater’s football team paid Fresno State to go away after they bitch slapped us last year. In 2004, they brought us into the new era of being a mediocre team by putting up 45 points on the first game of the season, letting the faithful know that Wildcat dominance was over.

Would Texas want any part of Fresno State? God, not any smart team would, but that doesn’t mean the Longhorns wouldn’t have a go.

Fox Sports online edition evaluated out of conference (OOC) schedules, and rated K-States as being pretty weak. I liked their comment that K-State should change their mascot from the Wildcat to the “Scaredycats”.

Admit it, though, nobody wants any part of Fresno State this year. KSU was smart to get out of that game if they have any serious hopes for a bowl appearance.

The options for worst KSU team of all time are so plentiful that the criteria arguably should be expanded beyond won-loss records and on-field stats.

How about 1976? Admittedly, KSU did win a game that year, but they gave out 43 football scholarships the following spring. The NCAA limit at the time was 30.

Or how about one of the atrocious Stan Parrish years of 1986-88 when the team went 2-30-1? The NCAA allowed 20 days of spring practice then. KSU was so downtrodden that they only took 17 days.

Let’s not rush to judgment on this one, guys.

Next year, Prince is specifically targeting Varangians and German landsknecht.”

Hoo hoo haa. Oh boy. That hurt so good.

And I also must admit I had to laugh at that zoo material too. The tornado was a bit over the top (get it?), but who COULD resist the wind erosion thing, after all?

I’m one K-State Wildcat who doesn’t fear going back to the bad old days though, so laugh all you want, Big Boys. At least we’ll get in for free at half-time. Bill Snyder was our handsome prince (no pun). He took us places, like big dances and stuff. Now he’s old. So we’ll just have to get used to sitting down while the really pretty girls get to dance. But we’ll always be able to look back on that decade when…Oh shoot, gotta go, Elliot the Raccoon just got out again and that freakin prairie dog is going nuts!
