This is the year of the mid-west.

Yikes, not good for the Big XII, and I really don’t see TMJ going in the first round either, so he isn’t likely to “get paid” regardless.

Also, Baylor has a legit shot to go farther. It’s set up nicely for them.

Glad I only had KU winning in one of my five brackets…now the other four really have a chance!
-
Patrick Bateman commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 8 minutes ago
Okay, that was worth my brackets going up in smoke…..BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

Patrick Bateman commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 9 minutes ago
UNI makes 1 of these FTs and it’s over….
-
Patrick Bateman commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 9 minutes ago
Lomers is the difference in getting Baylor to the sweet sixteen, while Dexter is hitting the chunky monkey ice cream…..Life, ain’t it funky???
-
ghostofagroundgame commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 10 minutes ago
Yeah, my bracket is f#$ked.
So be it. It’s fun to watch how good these mid-major teams are. Upsets used to all be the same — a smaller team gets hot and hits 3s. Not now. These mid-majors flat-out beat highly ranked teams now.

There goes my bracket…..
-
ghostofagroundgame commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 12 minutes ago
Agreed. That’s why Dex would have fouled out. Shot-blocking is much less important that not allowing the other team to get into comfortable low post/rebounding position.

uthookem commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 12 minutes ago
Awesome. KU is only going to make it one round farther than we did.
The karma ship is beginning to right itself.
-
ghostofagroundgame commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 13 minutes ago
NI is going to win it.
-
Patrick Bateman commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 13 minutes ago
Charges. That’s about the 4th one of the half. Amazing what happens when your guys actually play smart positional defense instead of trying to block everything….
-
ghostofagroundgame commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 13 minutes ago
Huge 3 for Northern Iowa. then charge on KU.
-
Patrick Bateman commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 14 minutes ago
The Bears will move on…..
UNI should have this game won, but panicked vs. the press. Their coach hasn’t done them a lot of favors. For some reason their in bounder sprints down the middle of the court after getting the ball in. Even knowing that Kansas is forcing the ball to the

Dex would have fouled out in the first half of 3/4 of our games if Barnes had let him sit under the rim.
-
uthookem commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 16 minutes ago
And now they battle back…down one with forty seconds to go…

1 point game

Kansas has a chance. Terrible play by UNI vs. the press…
-
ghostofagroundgame commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 16 minutes ago
Holy shit. KU has it down to 3 and forced a turnover
-
ghostofagroundgame commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 17 minutes ago
I was wondering what kind of name “Lacedarious” was. Then they said he was from Louisiana. So I guess it’s “French?”
-
uthookem commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 17 minutes ago
Under a minute and KU still on the ropes…couldn’t happen to a better fanbase.
-
Patrick Bateman commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 18 minutes ago
UNI up by 7 points with about a minute and 15 left. Collins has 5 TO’s.
In defense of Dex, our defensive scheme didn’t allow him to just sit in front of the rim. A big Barnes’ mistake this year.

ghostofagroundgame commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 19 minutes ago
Looks like KU is going down. Wow.
-
ghostofagroundgame commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 21 minutes ago
I wish Dexter watched how Lomers plays. He’s not athletic. But he understands positioning.
-
ghostofagroundgame commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 22 minutes ago
Lomers’ positioning in the post is perfect on every defensive series.
-
Patrick Bateman commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 22 minutes ago
Kansas with 2 steals in a row and now within 3…
-
Patrick Bateman commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 24 minutes ago
Lomers has been an animal. Another block…

ghostofagroundgame commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 26 minutes ago
I still think the battling baptists will pull it out.

If KU goes down, well . . . It might conclusively prove that the key to success in the current college game is a team full of four-year players who accept coaching.
