Mack Brown curse claims latest victim.

Posted by HenryJames on May 2nd, 2008 under Football

Ryan Perrilloux has finally been kicked off the LSU football team.

LSU head coach Les Miles said that Perrilloux “didn’t fulfill his obligation as an LSU student-athlete.” What those obligations were are left to the reader’s imagination.

He’s just the latest in a long line of players, particularly quarterbacks, who have suffered career setbacks after spurning a scholarship offer from Texas. Kyle Wright, Rhett Bomar and now Perrilloux.

My favorite part of the article is the part that says Perrillux plans to finish out the spring semester. So after his finals in ‘Drive Thru Daquiri Preparation’ and ‘Casino Profit Skimming’ he’ll only be 84 credits shy of a degree in Louisiana Arts.

    So:

QB’s who spurn Texas (a la Perrilloux) tank.

QB’s who are spurned by Texas (a la Reesing, Daniel) go on to great success.

So you guys need to continue to recruit somewhere right in the fucking middle.

If he transfers to McNeese, or SFASU, or any other school, we have got to schedule them to take Arkansas’ spot in the 2009 schedule- on the condition that Perriloux plays the whole game.

  15. i bet he fights dogs too

It’s not really a curse. Evil shuns good. The good try to help the evil, but the evil cannot countenance good and shun it.

  17. It seems like we had a few big recruiting misses/ de-commits in 2003-04, and the majority were kicked off their teams.

    2003:
    – Rhett Bomar- kicked off OU
    – Adrian Peterson- did pretty well at OU

    2004:
    – Perilloux- kicked off LSU
    – Fred Rouse – kicked off Florida State (how do you do that?!)
    – Martellus Bennet – did well in both B-Ball & football for A&M

  18. He will be washing my car at the local car wash soon. I can’t wait to make fun of him…
