If anyone in the BC bracket called this game they should immediately be hired as an assistant coach. Because that would be an act of pure witchcraft.

Huskies putting the finishing touches on Steve Alford’s feathers.
I must admit, that I had only watched a bit of the Huskies this year and didn’t hold them in high regard coming into the tourney. They’ve impressed me the first two rounds….That said, UNM was a weak 3 seed, but there are no

Yikes, not good for the Big XII, and I really don’t see TMJ going in the first round either, so he isn’t likely to “get paid” regardless.

Also, Baylor has a legit shot to go farther. It’s set up nicely for them.

Glad I only had KU winning in one of my five brackets…now the other four really have a chance!

Okay, that was worth my brackets going up in smoke…..BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

Lomers is the difference in getting Baylor to the sweet sixteen, while Dexter is hitting the chunky monkey ice cream…..Life, ain’t it funky???

Yeah, my bracket is f#$ked.
So be it. It’s fun to watch how good these mid-major teams are. Upsets used to all be the same — a smaller team gets hot and hits 3s. Not now. These mid-majors flat-out beat highly ranked teams now.

There goes my bracket…..
-
ghostofagroundgame commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 16 minutes ago
Agreed. That’s why Dex would have fouled out. Shot-blocking is much less important that not allowing the other team to get into comfortable low post/rebounding position.

uthookem commented on the blog post NCAA Tournament Open Thread: Weekend Edition 17 minutes ago
Awesome. KU is only going to make it one round farther than we did.
The karma ship is beginning to right itself.

NI is going to win it.

Charges. That’s about the 4th one of the half. Amazing what happens when your guys actually play smart positional defense instead of trying to block everything….

Huge 3 for Northern Iowa. then charge on KU.

The Bears will move on…..
UNI should have this game won, but panicked vs. the press. Their coach hasn’t done them a lot of favors. For some reason their in bounder sprints down the middle of the court after getting the ball in. Even knowing that Kansas is forcing the ball to the

UNI up by 7 points with about a minute and 15 left. Collins has 5 TO’s.
In defense of Dex, our defensive scheme didn’t allow him to just sit in front of the rim. A big Barnes’ mistake this year.

I wish Dexter watched how Lomers plays. He’s not athletic. But he understands positioning.

Lomers’ positioning in the post is perfect on every defensive series.

We should move heaven and earth to get Ed Orgeron on this defensive staff. He’s exactly what we need.
Woody Bombay said:

I doubt Mack would be ‘comfortable’ with Orgeron.
SizzleChest said:

Orgeron is oil (OK, a raging well fire that would make Red Adair shit his pantalones) and Mack is water.
There were rumors about Orgeron (can we just call him “Orgazmo”?) coming in as DC back when Tomey/Robinson were brought in, but it faded when Ole Miss came calling.
Ed and Mack are both nuts, so maybe they have something in common.

My fairly obvious bets for future firings:
Robinson out at Syracuse (probably tomorrow)
Dorrell out at UCLA (probably one minute after their 63-7 loss to USC)
Gailey out at GT (maybe tomorrow)
I figured Doba out at WSU, but he won against UW today. So it may not happen for a month if at all.
jimmyjazz said:
November 24th, 2007 at 9:27 pm
If Gailey is gone, then Tenuta may be job hunting. I don’t see 7-5 as a firable offense at GT, though, but maybe it is. Regardless, Akina most likely isn’t going anywhere, unless Mack is really feeling the heat from Big Money.
McLovin said:
November 24th, 2007 at 10:04 pm
Did Dorrell save his job today? I think much like Franchione it’s too little, too late but mathematically they do have a shot at the Rose.

“I doubt Mack would be ‘comfortable’ with Orgeron.”
And I doubt any coach with a set of balls would be comfortable answering to a pussy like Mack. He IS the problem, and the ass-clowns he hires are merely a reflection of his softness. Tomey and Robinson were exceptions, reluctantly hired to clean up the mess from the 2003 meltdown, and they bailed after one season.
We’ll get out of this mess when Mack leaves, and not before.

Do you guys really want Ed Orgeron to be DC? The guy is a good position coach and recruiter, but he has also proven to be a pathetic manager and strategist, not to mention a dumbass in general. He’s like a retarded version of Bobby Jack Wright.

Out of curiousity, throw out some “wish list” names for DC if you guys wise up and get rid of Akina. Our fanbase just spent an entire season throwing out the names of every coach in America from peewee to NFL who we want to bring on board, so I’m curious to hear it from another set of fans.
