I no longer find Charlie Weis offensive

Posted by HenryJames on September 17th, 2007 under Football

 height=Look at the stats.

Notre Dame is dead last in rushing, total offense and scoring. There are only four teams with a worse passing offense.

Now I see Weis has three choices at this point to try and fix his offense.

1. Change quarterbacks

Already done that. There’s no one else to put in.

2. Steal his opponents’ defensive signals

Not a good time to attempt this. Too many people will be watching.

3. Hire Greg Davis

Turned down too many head coaching jobs to mention to stay at Texas. Newly svelte figure might embarrass Weis.

Hmm. No easy fixes out there for Weis.

At least he still has his looks.

Try a new Haircut? Maybe wear a Rally Cap?

  5. The med term is pannus, but I’m still partial to the sci-fi/nerd version, Harkonnen.

  6. pannus? as kids we used to call that an “old lady’s hump”. of course we used to call brazil nuts a term that is rather offensive as well so maybe we weren’t so bright after all…

  7. yeah. MAYBE.

  8. oooh … burn.

  9. He would have a massive camel toe with that buttinfront he has

This time of year there’s a lot of teeth gnashing and hand wringing when a top team struggles or gets upset in conference tournament play. Keep in mind that are very good reasons for this all to common “phenomenon”. And it’s not because these great teams suddenly stink.

I could not agree more about the subject. You have to make the pass go somewhere else than the offense wants. If you can’t stop that, you have to change the angle of the pass. Anything to throw them off.

I said after Laettner’s shot and pretty much ever since, that guarding the inbounder should be

No worries whatsoever. Teams like kansas, duke, WVU, and Cuse have all struggled in the conference tourney. I think the close win is actually going to help OSU.

whoopsat, I saw that too. I couldn’t figure it out.

Awesome play. Does struggling with Michigan in any way make you less bullish on the Bucks? Anything in that game from the Bucks that troubles you?

  • Bob in Houston commented on the blog post Texas-El Paso Basketball On Now   5 hours, 48 minutes ago

UH: First four-game win streak of the season. The only other three-game win streak was in December. Between the two, 10-13.

Listened to the AD on the radio postgame, and he never said a word about Penders.

The reasons given by this coaching staff to have hope for the future continue to be unimpressive.

One of the two or three best basketball teams in Texas, the UTEP Miners are on CBS now playing against Tom Pender’s Houston Cougars. You never mentioned bunting with your best hitter up. Nice restraint.

I’m convinced this strategy implies Augie’s tacit approval of having Balbay and Mason on the floor together.

Great article as well. I’m pretty fucking happy baseball season is upon us.

It’s the time of year when we see a lot of “state of the program” articles. The off season is a natural time to reflect; it’s also a time when there’s nothing really going on so we turn to big picture fluffery to fake like we’re busy.

We took a shot this week at noting that

I was a little skeptical about Jungmann just due to the nature of the pitching beast, sophomore slump, I’m a fag, yadda, yadda. The dude is nails, and is going to be a multi-millionaire in the next two years.

Pitching is usually ahead of hitting, and in our case, pitching is headed to Nebraska and
